*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Was wondering if anyone could tell me if im able to return my iphone to phones 4u? Ive had several problems with the phone, the signal issue, proximity sensor not working and now the most annoying "sim card not inserted" restart the phone and it will go away but make a call or send a text and the simcard will be uninserted again. Ive removed and put the sim card back in the phone just incase it wasnt quite seated right but the problem still exists.

Ive spoke to both my local phones 4u and customer services and both are saying i cant have a refund as they dont offer a 14 day cooling off period anymore (i purchased instore so no distance selling regs to fall back on). I would be happy to have a replacement but at the minute they dont have any in stock and cant tell me when they will have one but the ods are 2 out of the 3 problems will still exist.

IMO phone is not fit for purpose

Righh this seems like an odd one...

Anyone else thinking their 4 screen is... well, abit dull?

I'm sat here with my 1.8 year old 3G and my 4... both on full brightness with autoness off and the 4's whiteness is definately more 'greyer' than the 3G :s

Oh and got mine yesterday... it really is lightning quick.. love it. Also moved to Orange and got 3G in my house :D The camera is unreal too.. exposure is probs not quite as good as a bridge but it's definitely close.

edit

woo 1k posts!!!! :p

i'm using the iphone on Orange Dolphin pay as you go using the £10 a month topup.

is there any reason using this package why i wouldn't be able to get onto 3g?
according to Orange's 3g coverage check its excellent where I live and at work and all it seems to use is edge.

Funnily enough, I've moved to Orange with the iPhone 4 after having used O2 for the last couple of years, and have a similar issue. Both coverage and 3G/speeds have been the opposite of what their online coverage thing says.

Might it be quicker for me to wait for orange to get some available to buy online or reserve one by paying a deposit at a local orange store?

Robbo have you ordered yet??...i ordered a 32gb from apple earlier today...means a 3 week wait though but in a way it kinda works out because im hoping that by 20th july when mines due to be delivered...the reception issue will have been solved.

well iphone fell off the desk today , had it charging in comp usb , turned round fast , pulled the stupidly short cable phone came flying off the desk! no case or bumper , landed on hard laminate floor , my heart was in my mouth nooooooooooo.
You know what not a mark on the phone ! so i can say its tough as hell too!

Not yet, Orange are calling me tomorrow afternoon and I'm going to order a 32GB on a new contract, and palm my girlfriend off with the Desire to keep her happy about me ordering yet another phone :p

Orange told me they are expecting one or two large stock deliveries this week so should be able to fill most of the pre-orders!

I'm not sure yet, probably the £35/£319 for the phone 18 month, or £30/£269 for the phone 24 month.

Maybe the latter, as I can always pay a few months of it off and get the new one when it comes out if needby (or sell the Desire and give the girlfriend the iPhone 4 if a better one comes out at the time)!

I tell her to appreciate the flurry of phones I throw at her to choose from but she isn't quite as enthusiastic as I am :p

Thinking of doing what you do Spawn. Use my BB for work, i.e calls, texts, emails etc.. then use the iPhone for browsing, music, video playback? if it supports avi/divx?

I'll probably regret the iPhone purchase though, as it's so expensive and my Desire does all those fine, apart from music which it isn't that great at..

Decisions. :(
