So, PlayStation+, who's in?

Well I baught as I said I would. Quite a few things in there actually.

Little Big planet - free
Wipeout HD - free
Destruction Derby - PS1 free
Age of Zombie - Mini free
Fieldrunners - Mini free
Kill zone Steel and titanium maps - free

Shatter game trial and £4.79 for full game.
Savage Moon trial and full game

couple of avatars and dynamic themes.

and some discounted minis and lbp packs.

I think I probably will, Ive already got Wipeout and LBP but maybe some of the later months will be ones i dont have. The problem of course is going to be if every months the free games are things that people who get the plus service are likely to already have.
 
Im confused.
The PSN advertises that we'd get Little Big Planet for free with a years sub.
However if i goto the PS+ section, theres titles that say £13.99, but go on the info for it and it says that its free for PS+ users? So what is it?

Am i asuming that anything with a '+' on it is free for PS+ users, and costs for non PS+ users?

And does anyone know if the discounts translate over to the video store too?

Not a chance in hell. When Sony nut up and start giving the features on PSN that Xbox live has had for 4 years, then I might consider it, but as an expenisve game rental service, get stuffed (and as it all disables when you stop paying, I don't consider anything free).

Total crap, another way for Sony to peddle more rubbish.

Fixed it for you :p (joke)
Its an extra value option rather than a you need to give us money to do basic stuff like play online. For the price of game you get plenty of content that after a year you prob wont play anymore any way even if you do cancel it. Its not ideal and still has its problems, but its a step in the right direction, rather than splinter the user base with important stuff like playing on line. Hopefully the cost of plus will also help improve the PSN infrastructure as a whole so it will aid everyone.

LBP is yours forever, that's even if don't renew your sub, and also you get to keep the downloadable DLC and themes, and I wouldn't call 77p a week expensive for the rental stuff, full game trails, early betas etc.

I guess the value of this service and live's service is greatly determined by what you use live/psn for really, personally I've never once used cross gamer chat or party chat on live so for me it offers nothing other than on-line play which I get for free on PSN.

I've paid for live since it first became available in the UK, and in all those years I've never got anything from MS in terms of free software or content, and that's what I'd would like and PSN+ is giving that to me, even if it's just one full game a year/themes/dlc it's a lot more that I've ever got from MS and I'm more than happy to support it.

I'm having a problem subscribing. It keeps telling me my card details are wrong even though I haven't altered them and I made a couple of purchases last month so I know they are correct. Even so, I went into the billing option and deleted my payment method, re-added it exactly and it's still saying my details are incorrect, it's also saying my credit card details are incorrect when I'm trying to use a debit...

ummmm strange, reading through the comments thread on the EU Blog it seems that quite a few people have had this problem, for example,
"So after updating the system with the new update, my PS3 now says my credit card info is not valid, so I can’t subscribe to PSN+… Great… I delete my info, and retype it, but it still says my credit card information is not valid… I know for a fact that it is… What’s going on?"

Ahh thanks, I thought it might have been a problem my end but if a fair few others have the same issue then I think I'll wait a couple of days. :)

Do you know how long the additional 3 months offer is?

Don't get me wrong, free to play online is ace - however, unless Sony are going to support the most basic of community features, like the party system, player ratings, etc etc then I'm just not interested. Been a sony fan for 12 or so years of consoles, but having had more time to use xbox live / 360 over the past few months, its clear sony are so far behind its untrue.

And smashing, the bonus for paying for a year is getting games I already own. No thanks.

Edited with my comments, I think I will wait a while to see if it is interesting for me, but not at the moment.
