Not sure I would want him to be honest, he would probably demand something looney like £120k a week.

Why would he not try get that much, if he ends up at a top club (Read: not Liverpool) he knows they can afford it especially as they won't have to pay a transfer fee for him.

I dont know... because he might be honest and say he isnt worth £120k a week? I know..I know, thats an interstellar long shot these days but you never know.

Hope he doesn't get signed tbh, asking for absolutely silly wages he's not worth, hopefully teach him a lesson.

Would be brilliant if Cole ends up going to Liverpool on a free, on the back of that, top bit of business.

I've said it before & I'll say it again, Joe Cole is not the player he was 2 years ago and if he was even near it Chelsea wouldn't have let him go.
The fact that they consider Benayoun a better prospect, at his age, must tell you something.

I think if he went to a new club he would pull his socks up and you would see the best of him again. At 28 and free even with his high wages he is a steal and I would welcome him at Arsenal.

I hope Spurs get him, he may not be the player he was but his experience will be invaluable. I do wonder quite how he'd get utilised in a first 11 though, maybe playing in the hole?

ok the club decided to let go JC - no problem at all with that, maybe he isnt the player he was

the club lost out on Di Maria /Silva (if Chelsea ever went in for either Im not sure) - ok fair enough your evaluation of Silva wasnt what City were prepared to pay

but Yossi!!!! Surely thats just throwing money away - I just cant see why he is the quality of player CFC should be going after (especially after a pretty average two seasons with less pressure on him)

Anything over £100k (and possibly below it) you then get players on your books complaining about why a new signing is worth more than they are - it isnt worth the hassle I would say for the manager, all/most of the other players have shown their dedication to the club etc etc and yet suddenly are feeling devalued because of a "free" signing.....

JG is correct, Chelsea didnt really fight that hard to keep him which kind of proves his worth, for a lot less money than he is rumoured to want I wanted him at Utd, but always thought it would be a gamble (and hell with Utd's finances we need to sign bargain basement lol, but wages are a deal killer so far too high to even try and negotiate downwards)

They've replaced one average squad player that's always injured with another that's not injured half as much, scores a lot more goals, gets nearly as many assists and is probably on a considerably smaller wage.

Next couple of days before they overtake Arsenal then :p

BOL - great one!!!!! :D

not like Chelsea need to save money (after alll they have just had £80/£100m income from winning the double incl tv rights etc)

Exactly what I said - why are Chelsea going after an average player (and JC didnt start that many games last season if I remember JG's comment correctly from a while ago), so not exactly comparing playing time /no of goals fairly imo

Ha ! Tough...you're not having your £6 mil back..its ours now !

dont assume Im a Chelsea fan - feel grubby already just from the insinuation -hahahaha, just a very bizare deal

Hehe, my apologies for making you feel grubby, its difficult to keep up to speed with who everyone on here supports , especially with so many people changing who they support every few months.

Would love Harry to sign him.

Have a staring lineup of;

-----Defoe--Dos Santos
Cole-----------------Lennon
------Modric--Palacios------
Bale----------------Hutton--
-----Dawson---King---------
----------Gomes------------

Wouldn't mind that. Would be a very pacey team, so may start Crouch instead of Giovani, and have him come off of the bench so we have 2 different options up front.
Would like to see Redknapp try to get Kjaer(but not with Cavani) to strengthen up the back 4. Then offload a few players like Keane and Jenas whilst we can still get something for them.

If we can sign those 2 players this summer i will be very happy.
