yes, even though the economic situation in Britain generally shows no sign of improving, and that is hampering us a bit, getting those buildings on the old highbury site finished and sold was a real monkey off our back, and financially we should kick on now.
That is unless we emulate Liverpool on the pitch last season...

Clint Dempsey's agent talking about big European clubs wanting him. If we lose him, uh oh. We could cover Hangeland leaving more than we can with Dempsey.

Also, Higuain is much more clinical than Tevez and a proven goalscorer, something Tevez isn't (until possibly this season?), he's done this all before 22, Tevez is 26 :/

from what ive seen Higuain isnt clinical, he just gets loads of chances because thats how argentina play.... Tevez drops deep works, wins the ball and Hig does not...

They should have offered his worth then.

i heard that we bought berbatov and then we were in no position financially to accommodate 3x 30 million pound strikers in the same team. Fergies mind was already made up before we let tevez go. we never offered him what he wanted. we were NEVER going to pay 25-30 million for him the season after buying berbatov?

Looks like Arsenal could get Schwarzer too (not as big a loss), fear for Fulham next year :(

Owners have shown their class yet again. Could've easily wished Yossi well and left it at that but they've blamed Rafa for his sale despite him not being at the club anymore. Despicable ****s

Tbf, I don't they take much of an involvement in these type of things. It's Purslow that had been leaking **** to the rags before Rafa left.

As for Yossi going; good the season before last but done little else other than that, and when he's not playing well, it's like you're playing with 10 men. ~£6m for a 30 year old we signed for £5m isn't bad business.

I would never sell RVP. It showed last season how important he is to us. Sure he has his injuries but when he's fit we've got nobody else up front quite like him.

I wasnt saying I would sell him but that would be a good price.

i'm all about the brand new best player in the world Hernandez currently though.

Isn't he behind Vela (Always on the Arsenal bench) in the starting lineup for Mexico? ;)

Still he certainly looked better in the world cup than Rooney did :p

I like Benayoun but to be honest £6 million for a guy who will be 31 next year and spends more time on the bench than the pitch is a decent deal. Hopefully Rodger will get some of that added to the kitty to spend.

As a Chelsea fan I am really baffled by our transfers. We do need to spend to keep up next year, especially the way Man City are going. But we bring in an average 30 year old Liverpool reject? FML.

What's more baffling is that you let go Cole, who does the exact same job as Benayoun only better.
