hmm sparta 1.3 or open desire 1.6 (if he posts the final today, if not yesterdays pre-release)

i'll have to have a think about this one, lol

still on opendesire 1.3b - i've not changed my rom since lastweek!

Ok guys so I'm rooted but how do I use the Rom Manager! I've downloaded Opendesire 1.5 and ShadowFrost 1.4 both through Rom Manager but I cant figure out how to install them from 'Install ROM from SD Card' :o

Any help guys? :)

Cheers

My Desire is rooted, but I can't seem to get BusyBox installed - It tells me the phone is rooted, but then fails with an error saying "your device is not nand unlocked or we were unable to remount". I'm trying to get Titanium Backup installed (as it's a pain switching between ROMs), but it seems it needs BusyBox...

Ideas appreciated! :)

Sorted this in the end by installing busybox from within Titanium (click Problems?).

you just browse to the rom (under clockworkmod folder), click it and it'll ask you if you want to backup your current rom / wipe, choose your options and it'll then ask you if you want to reboot into recovery to flash it, that's all there is to it.

The latest Sparta 1.3 with MCR kernel feels a bit less snappier around the edges I find. Launching the LP launcher is a bit more stuttery than before and switching between tasks teh animations sometimes stutter too.

I guess this is because there's none of the on-demand cpu scaling stuff than the kernel by RichardTrip had.

I'll be flashing UVOC v14 shortly I think.

Ninjarogue on XDA is poloshing up the build with some other devs so we will have a release soon :p

It's TASTY by the sounds of it.

It's fast and stable, as a starter.

The good:
All previous frankenfroyo roms' problems - echo, battery, led - are solved.

No - to be precise, NO - echo in calls. At all. Voice is clear and loud. No way to reproduce echo or white noise.
720p works out of the box for MP4, whereas for H264 it gets to 800x480p (which I have to check whether or not is worse...)
Bluetooth has a new stack and as for now is perfect.
Wifi is stronger. When using frankenfroyo roms I got only two lines of antenna on the second floor of my house. now I get from three to four. no placebo effect...
Froyo App2sd works ok.
Led works as a charm.
A final note regarding the battery. I have been using wifi, browsing for 20', making two phone calls for 15', installing apps, moving files in sd card, etc. since 100 minutes, and battery has gone down by 5%. Which is outstanding to me. More info tonight after 12 hours of work with everything always on.

The bad:
The rom is not a final one, nonetheless.
udK and Maja are ironing out the bugs - there are few, still, which need so.

Stay tuned.

That's enough to make me go back to SenseUI ROMs for a short while lol.
