which dock do people go for to use with the iphone 4 ? looking for something to put on my bedside table

Sam

Unfortunately it literally can take between 2 and 24 hours. I think mine (on o2) took about 8 hours to transfer over, after the initial 24 hours when they'd given me the wrong sim.

All activated now.

Now I can call and see about a replacement, if it seems like hassle I'll try and sort it via Apple :p

On the iPhone 3GS I kept seeing people mention "water sensors" and if they turned red the phone wouldn't be covered under warranty. Where are these sensors on the iPhone 4?

If this is true, then it looks like I'll be holding off buying it for a while longer. I hope they do fix the problem.

I wanted to snap a White one up when they were released, but I'm not going to pay near £600 for a phone that I have to hold in a particular fashion.

In 12 years of owning mobile phones, never have I had a problem where holding it in a particular position drops the signal.

However unlikely it may be that you hold the phone in that particular spot, I don't fancy paying £600 for what is apprantely a faulty product.

I have had the phone for a few days and hold it like ive held any other phone and have not had this issue ???

You will most likely have a very strong signal, if you try in a place where you're getting 3 bars or less, it will drop off very quickly.

I'm still waiting for 3 to get their stock in :(

2 days ago they were expecting them in-store this week, today I called and they're expecting 2-3 weeks from now :(

But, I will hold out (not much choice), as they're certainly the cheapest for my particular needs. Apple really need to manufacture enough to meet demand next time around!

The thing is though, you might not have that problem. I hold the phone in a manner which feels comfortable, I haven't adjusted my grip in any way and I haven't experienced any drop calls. I would never have even noticed the problem existed in all honesty if it wasn't broadcast everywhere.

It may be worth buying the phone, using it for a week or so and seeing how you get on. If you experience reception problems and dropped calls, return it for a full refund but I think it is only affecting a small % of people.

My handset does drop bars when in certain areas when I hold it 'that' way but it takes some effort to do it...

Quick question here as my 12 months free internet on o2 payg is running out. I have looked into the simplicity plan and for £20 a month. Clicked it on the website and it got some sims sent to me but can't I just use my current sim/number?? :o

If you call o2 I'm sure they can swap the tariff and your current number to the sim you're using.

I turned 3G off in the options yesterday seeing as I rarely need it, I've got wi-fi access at home and at work so only really need it when on the move. It seems to have really improved the life of the battery where as before it drained almost comically quick.

Anyone know if and when Tesco are going to get some of these in? They might already have had some in actually.

How quickly exactly?

Mine still had 30% battery after 25 hours standby and 7h 53m of usage (games, web browsing, music through the speaker, texts etc.).

That's with everything but Bluetooth on.

I get 2.5 days out of mine with about 9 hrs use sometime more. I have everything on bare Bluetooth. Are you always in a good signal as I believe if you get into area where signal is pant the phone will keep searching for signal and this drain battery badly

Right, I've just spoken to Orange about the yellow screen blotch problem that I have.

What the woman said to do is return the handset and completely cancel the contract, and then order a new phone online from scratch!

She said there's no point going to Apple if its new as they give you a re-conditioned handset and not a new one. Is this true?

Other than that, the yellow band on the right hand side of the screen has gone, and the blotches have faded a little bit overnight.

So it might be worth waiting a day or two and see if it fixes itself :p

It was the case when I had a problem with my old 3G after it developed some bubbles under the screen. Gave them my old one, they gave me what I can only assume is a reconditioned phone from a plain manilla brown box.
