Manhunt in Northumbria on BBC

But at Thursday's media conference, Det Ch Supt Neil Adamson said: "Information has come to our attention about a wider threat to the public from Mr Moat.

"I am not prepared to comment further on this."

Does this have anything to do with the letter found by the tent? Why are they so tight lipped now?

Actually this T-shirt was a good idea, as it makes his hair look less ginger

Well with everything the police don't say much so most things are kept 'secret' but the question was sort of like "Well what do you think they are doing behind the scenes"... isn't it as 'simple' as searching the incoming cars, and the area.. what else can they even do

Monitor ports/airports, credit-card transactions (if he is daft), camping shops and camping supplies sold stolen in the local area, and, other criminal activity in the wider area. Acting on tip-offs/suspected sightings. Looking to discover other areas of the country he might know well, or have camped in previously. Interview friends, family, prison inmates who knew him and may have ideas about his plans.
Thats about all I can think of, and I am not a police officer. I expect they have many other things they are doing to try and track him down.

I have to ask two questions of the police
1) how come you cannot catch a 6' 2" bloke in a bright orange T shirt?*
2) the guy has a grudge against the police so why do you fill school playgrounds full of officers?

I expect the police to arrest most of the Dutch football team, if only they knew where to find them ! :)

He was wearing that before the shooting. I doubt he's wearing it now!!

You'd be the first to complain if he went and shot up a school. 'Where were the police' etc.

Does anyone find it a bit convinient that the cops now think he is a public menance rather than just a threat to cops?

He's made a threat against the public, and to be honest, you amongst others would be the first to complain if a member of the public got hurt and no police was about.

No pleasing some.

Did they ever not think he was a public menace? Just because some unhinged guy that has already shot a couple of people says he isn't a menace to the public isn't really a good reason to agree.

I don't think you're having a tin-foil hat moment, no. I thought exactly the same when they made the announcement earlier.

Just what I thought. He is obviously a threat to the public to some extent but just seems odd to say we can now reveal 'he is definitely a threat' but won't say why (what has changed our perspective)?

maybe they feel some of the public are holding back info which could help with his arrest..... not everybody would be against moat if he is targetting just police officers now.

 anarchist forum is that way ---->

i hope that he gets caught tbh, i hope someone in government doesn't see this as a reason to arm all police officers.
