*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I have ordered one on Vodafone now, will be returning this one to O2 as soon as it comes, the signal is a joke, missing loads of calls and its not just the iPhone 4 either.

when you return it to O2 put a note in asking if I can have it!! Everytime i go to a fekking O2 shop near me they've 'just' sold out.

Have my contract if you want lol.

Unimpressed by all of this.

In fact, I see all of the above as knee-jerk idiots.

I really have to try to lose signal (and this is around the country) so I am happy to ignore you kids...

Not sure..

I think I quoted some whiners...

:D

Well, its not really whining.

The signal problem (if that is what you are talking about) is very real, and is affecting pretty much every phone that doesn't have a strong signal.

And most of those posts aren't related directly to the phone, Nick for example thinks he has a network problem, he's not bashing the iPhone, he likes it.

Well I am very ****ed off about the signal problem because it's completely subjective and something which you, Robbo, have bitched about a lot. Yet now, here you are with an iPhone. Two in fact.

I'm fed up and ****ed off because there has been such a stupid reaction which has just been trying to demoralise a small company.

It's not needed and it's stupid, but what I say doesn't matter, because I'm a "fanboy" due to the fact I own an iPhone, and the fact my three main computers are M$ powered means nothing:..

1am rant ended :D

Yea I'm not blaming the phone, had the same with my Desire, just O2's poor network., wish someone had told me they get my voice mail and have to try 3-5 times to get me.

My Vodafone iPhone 4 has been delayed apparently, they did say tomorrow but I don't know now.

Oh dear. I'll leave you to it then if you're going to be a miserable and clueless idiot. :)

Beg pardon?

You are saying that people dont have a right to complain about a problem with a product?

I don't find the signal issue causes me any trouble, but that is not to say it doesn't cause other people problems and I most certainly would not stick my head in the sand as you appear to be doing and call them stupid?

I like the iPhone 4 but it is a flawed device (like most are).

No, I'm perturbed with people like you and Ray who feel the need to slate a product without owning it, or respecting those who do. Despite the fact that both of you want it, hard.

Make up your damn minds!

I do own it as you know, and I think its a great device.

I like to show an interest in technology of all kinds so I will happily discuss any good or bad issues about anything I'm interested in, or that I happen to own.

I'm doing nothing different to that here.

Just because you think Apple should be allowed to ignore the fact quite a lot of people lose a large amount of signal when they pick the phone up in their left hand (or whichever way they are having problems with), is entirely up to you.

I had a look at one today in tesco. The device its self is very sleek. I tried to replicate the signal drop issue. It dropped off really slowly, much slower than I expected, but it did only drop 2 bars at first, then regained one after. I also think id have it in a case anyway as I dropped the 3G onto the tiled floor at work and smashed it, first time i had dropped it and it landed on the glass side. Dropped it a few times before and it landed on the plastic side and was fine. But now with both sides being glass, some kind of shock protection is the way forward, especially at work.

But it had a very good feel in my hand much better than the 3G, which now just feels sluggish and out dated, especially as i have an iPad too.

I have pretty much made up my mind that its time to ditch the 3G and get something else and i think the 4 is the way forward especially considering i have a few other iDevices.

EDIT:

The proximity sensor issue is a much better one for me as im never really out of strong signal areas.

I played on my mates iPhone 4 for about an hour, then picked up his iPad - the screen looked awful on the iPad in comparison and completely put me off getting one :p

I think every version of the iPhone had some kind of launch flaw with it, and I moaned about it, despite buying the phone. Just because people are moaning about its problems but still want/buy one, it doesn't mean they're wrong.

I get this now, my ipad screen looks so much worse than it used to now :( Guess its the way they will make us want an ipad 2.0 with a higher res screen.

Same :D

Thought the iPad screen was awesome when I first got it. It's still good, but I've been spoiled by the iPhone 4 :o

If iPad 2 uses something similar, it will be incredible.

After all the crap from Orange themselves, and the fact that no Tesco store anywhere remotely near me knows when they'll get any iPhone4's in, I've bit the bullet and re-ordered through CPW for delivery next week. Unfortunately, it's still on Orange who have great CS departments, but their sales team are absolutely shocking.

Now to pick up one of the Rebel Nude cases. They're purdy!

Finally you've got it sorted, I'm stunned as to how Orange just seemed to forget about your order, and how they know absolutely NOTHING when it comes down to stock issues :p

Good news you have got one sorted out though!
