Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Even though I've got a fair few shares, I am fairly new to the general trading. Do you guys set yourself a target for each share and then sell when it hits that target, or re-evaluate, or not have targets at all?

Before I buy a shares in a particular company I will research and look at future prospects, due to the limited amount of money I’m sticking in (relatively speaking) to make my investment worthwhile I’m looking for quite large returns, I’m talking about 25% upwards.

I have an initial get out price target but this is always changing due to news / traders reaction to the share in question, it really depends what’s going on with the company, for example I’d be a fool to say, wow look at my RRL shares nice 25% gain time to cash them in, however If I got a 25% gain on my MTA I’d be off!

Temptation might be to cash in on quick rises and gains, but for the likes of RRL / MTV / LDP i'm in for the longhaul.

Go go RKH and RRL ;) :)

LDP not so much :( but will hold onto it anyway, it's only a few quid either way for me.

HER is a nice long-termer too, as is FML. In my opinion ;)

Pretty hard NOT to make profit this week eh chaps ? You could have closed your eyes and stuck a pin in and invested lol.

10-25% rises all over the place !

Apparently BP has come up with a way to completely capture all the oil flow

Considering its such a large part of the ftse and also a positive friday nyse close, it should be a big up day tomorrow

You've got quadruple the normal volume for RRL on friday, looks to be a well supported breakout of its normal uptrend

The previous high of 6.7 would be a reasonable near term target

Thats me down 9k in FOGL.

Cant win them all

Unlucky Dr House. There was a rumour on Friday that it was a dusters, which sent shareprices falling. I looked at some of the trades late on Friday after the rumours and there were quite few £100k plus buys... ouch for them, FOGL has almost taken a 50% drop.

yah it looks as if that was started by GClark on iii.

To be honest I thought it would drop 70 to 80% so 50% is not bad.
