So who's got an XBOX "Slim" coming this week?

Mine went back today.. Now have a nice new lawn-mower as a birthday present instead.... lol..:D

Just could not justify keeping it really when my Jasper model works perfectly and is quite-ish anyway..

Does it have DVI? I recently switched from VGA to HDMI on my monitor and the difference was superb.

Yes indeed it does, but the reason I'm still using the same VGA cable from my Core is because my previous PC monitor only had VGA. VGA still looks pretty good on it, on a 19 inch widescreen TFT monitor with a native resolution of 1440x900, but I have to run it on 1280x1024 as that doesn't leave black bars at the top and bottom. I dunno whether it's worth upgrading from VGA to DVI though.

Defo give it a try. On my monitor the difference was massive. Could see people across the other side of the maps on BC2 even though they were just a couple of pixels.

Are you using a single cable that is 360-to-DVI-D on the monitor? Or are you using a 360-to-VGA cable, and then attaching a VGA-DVI-D adaptor on the end? Because in that case, I think I may have one of them VGA-DVD-D adaptors lying around somewhere...

Got mine today at 4:30pm finally after waiting all day! The power brick is definitely smaller but makes more noise than the console itself. The console feels lighter but it doesn't really look smaller.

Is anyone running it on a PC monitor using a VGA cable by the way? I'm using a VGA cable that I bought years ago to use with my Core model, which I imagine should be ok? The PC monitor doesn't have a HDMI or scart socket on it, hence the VGA cable.

I'm using it via an official VGA lead and it's working great at 1680x1050.

That looks a lot nicer than the shiny black dust magnet..

I'm using a HDMI cable with a DVI adaptor on one end.

EDIT: defo getting one in Matte.

I read on IGN MS have no plans at the moment to sell the 250Gb HDD on its own. And if they did I bet it will be a lot more than £50.

I read somewhere that you can use the original xbox hard drives with the new xbox if you take them out of the outer casing and plug it into the new xbox as it uses a standard sata interface. Apparantly it works fine...

Yeah, I've also seen that, just means the drive is a bit loose. Shame they didn't decide to just let you use standard drives (ala PS3) and add a 'format for 360' option to the 360 S software, but I imagine they make a decent amount of money from selling £20 HDDs for £60 or more.

In fact, I'd be surprised if Sony didn't go back to having more proprietary stuff next time round. Sadly I think the PS3 will be the last time we see a console come with so much as standard.

Damn, why can't we get matte black in 250GB? My PS3 takes enough dusting as it is. The one thing holding me back from getting the Slim is the shiny dust magnet colour.
