Cinebench 10 i7 V X6

*cough* - TRY 11.5 instead of using old dodgy software :P

R10 don't even detect the mhz properly let alone owt else!

Would'nt it be more fare to pit a X6 vs an intel hex core without HT on, so its 6cores vs 6cores, both at a set clock.

Would'nt that find out wich is better clock for clock for rendering.

At the mometn its X6 vs, I7's with HT on, so either 8 or 12 threads. So i say try it without HT on, yes i know thats why we get I7's for, but it might be worth seeing the results though.

you realise the 6 core i7 costs 3x+ as much as a x6 right? and they arent even suposed to be in direct competition while a 1090 and a i7 920/930 are.

i'd like someone to play with there memory speed i suspect cinebench is quite reliant on memory bandwidth.

why are we doing this anyway when the x264/handbrake thread got closed after amd were faster? third time lucky?

they are, they are basically losing a core for whatever reason

maybe the way in which their turbo mode works if it is on ?
doesn't that speed up 3 cores and lower the other 3 or something ?
hence the fact that in the single threaded test turbo mode is kicking in but in the multi threaded test it isn't and lowering the multiprocessor speed up score ?

Yes i do realise its 3x the cost.

But would'nt it prove once and for all which is better intel or amd for rendering when its equal clock speed and cores. No matter what the cost, we all know intel are far more costly then amd, thats a given. But is'nt it about time someone did a proper test to see if that cost is justified.

Pointless comparing them when ones 6 cores and the other is 4 with 8 threads, bit uneven don't u think.

how is it uneven? they are 2 cpus that are aimed at the same people.

980x is not aimed at the same people as the 1090 is :S they arent suposed to compare.

no doubt its better to own 3x 1090's then it is to own 1x 980 anyway.....

Looks photo shopped tbh ;)

No seriously, a big thanks to Gareth but we could do with more results from the AMD stable - maybe Big.Wayne could put his money where his .... Ah never mind :D
its not photoshopped or edited in any well. also my system is 100% stable..

anyway heres r11
