i bought all the episodes on special offer before it was released on PSN and while i understand there will be months that PS+ has free stuff i already own, just a bit annoyed with this one as i haven't even played the episodes i've paid for yet.

ah well. Mafia 2 demo it is then.

i do hope they have fixed it so that it does not auto download demos for games i already own.

but it needs to do it automatically as you get them, or can it and I've just not ticked the option to do so?
 
I'm close to pressing the buy button for PS+ but there's a couple of things that are bugging me :

1) I've just looked on the US site at their PS+ content and they have a lot more than we do. I don't really understand why both can't have the same amount as we pay the same(ish)..
2) They say PSN+ get demos earlier, I see it as those without PS+ getting it later, if you can understand what I'm getting at

This has been brought up before, EU PSN are going to start introducing content mid-month to hopefully balance it out, I can imagine this will take a few months for them to get the right amount though.

It's not on all demos, this month it was Kane and Lynch; they do push demos so your PS3 downloads them automatically (mines set at 2am).

I had read that to, just after todays update I assumed everything would be equal again

When are new Demos put on PS+ ? it used to be that the store was updated in the afternoon in which case your 2am is late for same day get. I assume it's earlier than this, midnight or something ?

Nope, US still a bit on top, mainly due to them getting a free Qore(?) subscription as well, hopefully they will surprise us soon.

Not really like that; its say a demo was getting released next wed, PS+ people will get it monday as a push demo (I set my push time to download updates at 2am as I get unlimited bandwidth then, and will not interrupt anyone else).
 
When the auto downloading starts, does the console stay in standy mode or does it switch on for two hours then switch off? I ask because I don't want it switching on and making it look like I've signed in when I haven't :)

Sort of, if you turn your TV over to the channel it displays a message saying it's downloading stuff and will shut down aftr it's finished, but you can start using the console if you wish (which disables the auto-shut off, but you can obviously re-enable it when you turn the system off again).

Well I gave in and bought the PS+, £36 (in real money) for a year isn't bad I guess but the main thing is I was going to buy Zen Pinball anyway so that's a plus.

Is there just the one option for PS+ in the console, that being Automatic Download in system settings ??

Will this automatically download all demos and updates ?

I've also set mine for 0200-0400 so I'll see how it goes.

It will download as many as it can in that time period, so obviously your connection plays a part.


I was surprised today as I turned to PS3 on and saw a message that said it had downloaded - Dragon Age: Origins

I thought I'd got lucky and it downloaded the game but I guess it just patched it. :p

I rented it 2 weeks ago.

Those were the two available to me as well. I haven't seen the schedule for this month so I couldn't tell you. Although you have to admit that Playstation Plus dynamic theme is quite sexy! :p
