PlayStation Plus gets is right!

EDIT: Actually, I'm not sure if LBP was for earlier buyers or anyone who buys the year's subscription at any time...

Just for people who subscribed in the first month, it has been taken off all advertising for PS+ now.

If old content was available, then people would just subscribe 6 months in and get all content, plus an extra 6 months.

That was my first night of PS+, turned the PS3 on this morning for a message saying the Pixeljunk shooter demo had downloaded... The game was actually quite fun and certainly not something I would have downloaded by choice, so this may actually introduce me to some good stuff I would have normally missed.

And the Zen Pinball game is amazing, I've not played a Pinball game since the Amiga days so quite happy with this one.

Glad you're enjoying the service. :D

Did you download the themes as well? The Playstation Plus theme is rather nice.

Yep, Zen Pinball seems to finally be a game I can just put on for a few games.

LOL, Not seen any of these fangirls in ages, I thought the saddos had grown up, apparently not. Back on topic though, I think its a great idea to offer the sam and max episodes especially considernig they're still being released!

Well, I've had ps+ a few days and I'm reasonably pleased with the service, though I would recommend joining at the end of a month (i.e. just before the next update) to benefit from 2 months content at the start instead of 1.

I've only played 1 of the rental games so far - Field Runners which I think is great and looks really nice on my tv even though it's a mini and designed primarily for the psp.

I think one of the main benefits to myself is that because I'd never bothered with *any* ps1 or mini games on my ps3 before, I was able to try some of these games. It's nice to be able to have dlc (to keep) as well such as the Motorstorm add-on.

Also, psn cards can be had at around a 10% discount if you look around, so you can get the ps+ service for around £36 not £40 which works out at around £3 a month. For some comparison, the cheapest subscription to lovefilm.com is £3.99 a month for a rental of 2 dvds or blu-rays each month.

I was mildly disappointed that my ps3 turned on during the auto-update period (presumably to install my updates, and it seems to check for videos that haven't had thumbnails made :)) but I can live with that easily, and it was only briefly :)

Overall though, I like the ps+ service and am interested in future updates in both content released and also enhancements to how the service works. I would also be interested to see if any of the features filter down to non ps+ members to maybe improve the overall service that Sony offer. Time will tell I guess :)

I thought they boasted how there would be loads of updates and content for free and discounted prices, the US store gets something new almost every week.

I'm a bit puzzled... have you gotten the PSStore mixed up with PSN+? The playstation store is updated weekly and contains content for everyone, PSN+ is a system where you pay monthly and it gives you free 'rental' of certain games on the store for the lifetime of your subscription and free DLC, wallpapers and avatars each month. It's a monthly thing in every territory and it's never anything 'extra' that isn't already in the store available to everyone, it just gives you freebies and discounts for that monthly fee.

Yeah I thought the free games were a monthly thing and the PSN+ would also update weekly with discounted offers on other items.

Seems a bit silly to me that you wouldn't have weekly specials
