Well, I've had ps+ a few days and I'm reasonably pleased with the service, though I would recommend joining at the end of a month (i.e. just before the next update) to benefit from 2 months content at the start instead of 1.
I've only played 1 of the rental games so far - Field Runners which I think is great and looks really nice on my tv even though it's a mini and designed primarily for the psp.
I think one of the main benefits to myself is that because I'd never bothered with *any* ps1 or mini games on my ps3 before, I was able to try some of these games. It's nice to be able to have dlc (to keep) as well such as the Motorstorm add-on.
Also, psn cards can be had at around a 10% discount if you look around, so you can get the ps+ service for around £36 not £40 which works out at around £3 a month. For some comparison, the cheapest subscription to lovefilm.com is £3.99 a month for a rental of 2 dvds or blu-rays each month.
I was mildly disappointed that my ps3 turned on during the auto-update period (presumably to install my updates, and it seems to check for videos that haven't had thumbnails made

) but I can live with that easily, and it was only briefly
Overall though, I like the ps+ service and am interested in future updates in both content released and also enhancements to how the service works. I would also be interested to see if any of the features filter down to non ps+ members to maybe improve the overall service that Sony offer. Time will tell I guess
