First I copied the busybox .apk file to the external SD, then ran Astro and selected the file, once installed i selected Open, this then ran Busybox and gave me an install option, clicked it and waited for it to say sucessful, then unmounted and removed my ext SD card, turned on USB debugging, connected to USB and ran the lagfix bat... only took a minute, then dissconnected usb, plugged EXT SD card back in and rebooted... :)

Edit, don't forgot to allow SU rights...

I had the sd card mounted. The fix appeared to have no effect, though.Quadrant is giving me less than 1000...

I didn't do the other fix cause I figured it was further than I really felt comfortable going.

I'm on JF5 btw.

Have you rebooted since?

Twice.

I'm gonna undo it and try it again.

I just flashed to JG5, for some reason Jm2 went nuts on me so ill tell you how that goes for me, IF it doesnt work for you maybe try flashing it again or soemthing might help.

what actual error are you getting? Only error i got was when i did'nt reboot after unstalling the latest version of Busybox. I used the combined root+Busybox 1.17 update.zip as well.

Soooo a little update on my battery issues. Today was a much better day with regards to battery. What I did was I turned off 3G so it's now either EDGE or GPRS, and set all the sync cycles for facebook, email etc to every 3 hours instead of 1. I then drained the battery completely, then fully charged it overnight and the battery was at like 45% when I got home at 6.30pm.

Only thing is EDGE sucks :(

I'm not getting an error anymore, just that the fix isn't working. With it applied I'm still getting a benchmark from Quadrant of 900ish.

Another dude was nice enough to do a 1 click version of that fix for us poeple that arnt good with linux and it works great, its very simple just needs you to be rooted with the latest busybox which is in the thread. I tried it on 2.2 JP3 and no problems so far and this thing just flys. Quadrant gets around 1912 for me about others have gotten as high as 2200 so its much better than the other lag fix and the old one my SD card had a lot of probelms with it but this new one makes the partition on your interal SD card so it just works for me no porblems.

Yep I was going to post that but you beat me to it :D

My quadrant went up from ~800 to ~2200 :D

Shows that the lag is a file system/software problem not really hardware one
