OCZ Revodrive - OMG Benchmarks

Looking at your HDTune benchmark there does seem to be some strange stuff going on there.

It looks a bit like a saw! Some of those cycles are hitting low 250mb's that isn't good. The transfer rate should be solid across the board.

My 2 intel M1's on an adaptec card shows a nice flowing line.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

seems like I have a new decision to make for my new build in a couple of months, should I get one of these for a boot drive, or a pair of raided SATA SSDs... More info/benchmarks, and a video of a boot with them is also welcomed/wanted by me too :D

Finally got Windows 7x64 installed & stable revo seams quick and responsive, still got load of installs to go. Im happy so far. btw it is green spot'ed version

Has anyone heard anymore about TRIM for this drive? From what AnandTech said in its review OCZ were pursuing this for this drive. At this time pretty much all thats holding me back from getting a 120 or 240 drive.

Revo Drives don't currently support TRIM. OCZ have said that it will come in a firmware update, but have given no timetable. I for one plan to wait until the technology is a bit more settled (i.e. no more boot problems, and TRIM available straight away).

I've just seen the price for the 480GB version, 1k for a SSD does seem pricey...

Just over £2 per GB isn't that bad.

If you're looking for large SSDs then perhaps waiting for Postville refresh is best.

100-120GB is plenty for a system drive with a few high end games, 60GB would also be ok

Put your Doc's/Videos/music etc on a large HDD(2TB for around £90) where there a bit safer and also Back-up - Twice.

Think the degradation in performance (when raided) can largely be prevented by ensuring that there is +-10GB of un-partitioned space.

Its just not enough for me, TRIM out the box and these batch issues sorted and I would have the card out getting 240gb mode straight away. real shame since I kind of want one this week. Oh well

Had my first problem last night with the revo, wouldn't boot passed DMI, dissapeared from BIOS
So I reseated the card, still didnt work, but then it did after several reboot attempts. OK again this morning

..and that was with a load of aps already installed.

I've totally abused mine and I am still getting the same benchies as I was when i bought it two weeks ago. So far so good.
