50-75 fps is what fraps is telling me, averages out at about 55-65 most of the time.


No idea how good this is but cop bench. Takes an absolute age to run though and typically I had a load of pop-ups from other apps as soon as the bench started. :rolleyes:

Max settings @ 1920x1200, no advanced fiddling about.

Hmm, reading this with interest, have stayed with 10.4 due to the issues with drivers since then.
Keep the opinions on these drivers coming!
 
Oh dear ! Even with the new drivers my 5970 seems jerky in SC2 compared to my 5850. Cod and BC2 however are ultra smooth
 
pssh my 5870 is idling at 58c with 10.5 drivers... ridiculous! I've not tried anything higher yet... dare not incase i get BSOD's :(
 
My 5850 is idling at 35-36C (everything at stock) right now. Once it stars getting colder I think it will go under 30C :)

Edit: I am on 10.8 btw.

Managed to get my wow issues sorted, installed 10.7 again. Never again will i use driver sweeper, the first and last time. Took me about 4 installs / restarts for windows to not tell me cat control centre couldnt load.

Sounds similar to me. Tried installing over the top - got a warning in the install log. Driver swept about 3 times with multiple reboots, deleting ATI folders, more sweeping. It eventually installed. It didn't seem to like an express install. Custom worked in the end.
 
Well i first installed 10.8 over the top, always done it this way for the 10 series of cats. Restarted and had wow issues. Tried to reinstall 10.7 still there. Used driver sweeper which caused problems. First the cats couldnt detect the hardware, but fixed that with a reboot. Then when i restarted after install 10.7, windows kept saying no ati driver found. Had that about 3 times in the middle of uninstalling / reinstalling 10.7
 
10.8 is no good for me, my sytem would hang when I tried to run my 5970 at 850/1200. I had no problem with overclocking with previous drivers.

I'm going back to 10.7
