Call of Duty: Black Ops

Can't say the video inspired me - it seems they're just making more of a deal of the things in MW2 that are annoying - more explosives, rapid fire rockets?!

Why rename the perks, that's just annoying. And they've kept the dogs?? The only original one they could think of - and everyone hated it, so they kept it.

I don't mind the idea of having to buy them though. Money matches are quite a nice idea too; I'm sure people will find a way to abuse it though, and I dare say all the hackers like a lot in the MW2 thread will just cheat the concept too.

I won't be getting this.

I don't see how it can be abused/hacked, pretty much everything is server side.

Yes seriously.

Treyarch have commented that all of the hacks/exploits that have happened to MW2 should not be possible in their game due to the measures they have taken. One of these measures is that pretty much everything is server side. This is also why most of the hacks on MW2 now do not work, the variables have been moved server side.

Guess only time will tell if they are right or not, but at this precise moment in time why would I question what they are saying?

i went on MW2 yesterday, and the 2nd map i got had someone with the stupid unlimeted airdrops.

when did this server side thing happen? im really intrested as the only reason i wasnt gunna buy this is becasue countless people refuse to learn how to play a game and just "cheat" i suppose there is opne upside to that though every time they claim they are hacking... makes me giggle just the thought of some spotty 14 year old thinking they actually hacked a game is worth them being a complete bell-end.

I like the look of those 4 new modes. Especially 'One in the Chamber' it reminds me a little of some of the Goldeneye modes which were always fun.

The skeptic in me though thinks that if there are certain perks in the game to having more 'COD Points' to unlock stuff, that there is a chance that they might sell COD points. So Activision has found a way to get more money from players who want the best stuff, but aren't the top players.

It's been confirmed COD points cannot be bought with real money.

A couple of months ago they moved the cvars that people had found could be changed locally to serverside. They also moved a few other things as well.

I don't know about unlimited airdrops, the only time I think hacks work if the person is host and running hacks.

At least shotguns aren't secondary anymore. Although that means no more AK47/SPAS fun:( Looks like it'll be ghost, sleight of hand, ninja for me now:D
In a vid on gametrailers I saw 2 pop ups that said sleight of hand pro and steady aim pro had been earned so pro versions are definitely back. And the m16 is 3 round burst again. *edit* there isn't an m16!But there is a gun that looks like one that's a 3 round burst.

History is not on their side - I expect something to be missed. Besides, it doesn't necessarily have to be modification of game files - it could quite as easily be a way to whore/glitch/boost points between willing participants, such as, just as a vague example, in MW2 one guy has One Man Army and the other guy has riot shield - to boost to top level perks etc.

It's the Internet, and there are a lot of sado's out there who find it more "fun" to sit stationary holding down a button to build up what are essentially just numbers - rather than playing the intent of the game. That is evident from other threads on this forum. They will find a way, and the idea of having to buy stuff just means any glitch to exploit it will be even more annoying to those who like the play the game as intended.

Too many launchers IMO. There is even one launcher which can shoot up to 4 rockets (single shot) in one clip. =/

the exact reason why i dont buy console games anymore, such a shame...

i dont mind it on pc, infact i expect there to be cheats/hacks etc...

but on a console no thanks

i LOVE cheating/modding on single player games, like fallout for an example. but never online

All stopping power does is take 1 less bullet to kill someone, I just don't understand why everyone uses it on guns that don't need it, the only weapon that should definately have it is Sniper Rifles.
