Which is why the 5850 should drop to 150 quid.
The GTX460 is the better buy at the moment.
I agree.

£150 for a 5850, you boys are nuts
£175 it should be and the 5870 should be £250
When you take in to account driver support the 460 is worth at least another £30 over the 5850 so £150 is about right.![]()
And I think there can be only one reason why ATI havent dropped the 5850/5870 to £175/£250 and that is because they are selling fine I guess.
Or they've become complacement.

It's ok at £200 because if the price was £170 they wouldn't sell any more units than at £200 due to being supply constrained.
TRD, you don't need to agree.
But why is it ok at 200+? That's more than it was when it launched... Still..
At a push, 170 perhaps.

Yep always a possibility, and having been bought out it is more likely than normal. I doubt it though, for the first time for a long time they have been on top and I doubt they would easily let that go.

If that was the case they could seize more ground having competition to the GTX460 at the price, they don't.
TBH the 5870 is a real bad buy at current prices
No they couldn't, they don't have enough cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
