I want my money back

Yes you have a courtesy car, because of goodwill not obligation. Next time when you dont get one (like nearly happened, remember when you were whining about public transport) dont bother to moan.

I'll moan all I want thanks, I like moaning, makes me feel better. Dont read it perhaps!

Thanks to all for the excellent advice and help apart from the usual OCUK Motors crew members who just look to cause an issue and post negative crap, I feel a lot better about the whole situation!

Could have been worse, they could have given you a courtesy TOY YODA

Just imagining that scene in my head makes me spit my invisible tea all over the place.

As it stands now you are not entitled to a refund, they are being pretty reasonable, and you must allow them to fix it.

Exactly what do you base this on? He may be entitled to a full refund if following repair he is still unhappy with the vehicle as the SOGA allows for this. It might not be 100% clear cut but the option is there for a "reasonable" amount of time to allow him to accept the car. The reasonable part of that legislation is not a fixed term and ultimately would be decided by a court.

Repair of a fault does not automatically assume acceptance of the car.

Whilst the OP is now happy with the outcome of his particular case, it is incorrect to assume that he had no entitlement for a refund on a purchase and would be forced to wait for them to fix it.

To the OP. I hope you get the fault fixed and have no other issues with it. If you do pop along to CAG which I posted previously and ask for advice on what to do. Your rights are fixed and make sure you use them as needed.

he has no grounds for a refund whatsoever the car is fit for purpose just because its whining and has a dodgy battery does not warrant a total refund

I'd expect a courtesy car if I was buying from a franchised dealer. BMW gave me brand new 3 Series courtesy cars free of charge when I had £90 services on my 100,000 mile+ car, let alone if something they had sold me broke!

Varies loads... my local BMW dealer will charge you £20 for a "courtesy" 1-series even if you turn up in a brand new 750i or M6.

Will Gill, Fox. The refund bit is over, i've already admitted I went over board whats your issue with banging on about it what are you looking to achieve? Its done and dusted boys and girls, as Shadowman said i'm happy with the outcome and thats all there is to it.
Courtesy car or no courtesy car it looks like thats down to the dealer and how they treat the situation I think this dealer has bent over back wards for me so far on what is bottom of the barrel deal for them so i'm more than happy at this moment in time and repeating myself again, i'm looking forward to seeing what Toyota say about it and eventually getting my car back
