Zafira and a Mazda 6, the Zafira is newer but crappier, they both have circa the same mileage on it but the Zafira is worth more, was thinking sell Zafira let wife drive the Mazda, spend £1500 - 2000 on a luxobarge and pocket the difference

Sure, seems sensible to me. As long as you don't need that extra little bit of practicability, the boot in the omega is cavernous though. Also the omega will cost more to maintain on services, tyres, and mine in particular is quite thirsty. If the difference in value is still large enough, I say go for it.
 
Dad had the 2.5 version, exactly the same really apart from black interior.
Thats a seriously high specced car for the money.

No leather though?! :(

Did you say it has rear heated seats as well as front ? ...I didn't know the Omega ever had such an option.

I wouldn't call it a "luxobarge" though, it's not big or luxurious enough for that :p

Woah, that's an immense amount of equipment for the money. ****ted up 51 plate 1.2 Corsa's go for more than that.
 
Very good value for money, although I'd be wanting leather, etc..

I looked into these, but they still cost far too much over here. Enjoy it :)

Yup has rear heated seats, which did surprise me tbh. The controls are at the back of the centre armrest next to the cigarette lighter.

I did cover myself by saying 'sort of' :D Although I did just check the dimensions in relation to my dad's 7 series; the omega is actually both wider and taller whereas the 7 series is less than 9cm longer.. Edit: probably about the same atm with my tow bar on! :p

Don't think the pictures show quite how large it is.

It seems it is quite unusual for Elite's to not have leather, especially when this is their largest engine. But I'm actually pleased that it doesn't have leather for two reasons; firstly that I'm often wearing shorts for sports which can be a pain with leather, and secondly the grade of leather in the omega is most likely not going to keep as well as more luxurious cars do and crack up badly.

Nice car. I've been considering one of these too, as you say it is an absoultely ridiculous amount of car for the money.

Just out of interest, what sort of features does the little screen/on board computer offer? Is it just a basic old school trip computer or can it do other stuff as well? Is the Nav system played through it?
 
You'll struggle to find a better example of value for money!

Shame it's not a manual, what is the auto 'box like on these?

When you say 'thirsty' are you implying 20mpg?
 
I was in an Omega a few months back as a Taxi and I was amazed how nice and comfortable it was, and how well it had held up over the years, nice buy there.

I would only buy a auto luxobarge, getting a manual spoils it a bit.
