Just debating about changing my year old pre-order with Amazon for a collectors edition...

Wow, that damage model looks pretty bad.

Well I expressed things in this current demo that prove its not final code or indeed the latest code shown.
That's a genuine enough reason for me to also believe then that what we are seeing here is also quite likely not final damage or indeed a complete or full representation to the final game.
And if it is final?
Like I asked him, what proof have you to assume this is final code or indeed final damage?

It's an easy assumption to make with the game being so close to release, very few games change drastically in the last few months before they come out.
Interestingly though, Kaz is quiet happy to ship a game out with only 200 cars that have an interior. That is most unlike the Kaz that you state as the 'prefectionist'.
I'm sorry to harp on about this point, but your blind fanboyism of GT5/Sony/Kaz is somewhat cringeworthy at times, and the sad fact at the moment is that no one knows what the damage will ook like in the final product, but if it is that, then oh dear.
I very much doubt this is the level of damage Kaz would be pleased with, sorry it doesnt seem right when they put so much work into the cars. I can understand trees and crowds being less important but the cars and detail is their forte. We only have to look and see working lights now including even reverse lights modelled and even the active spoilers operating. To fob these cars off with damage that doesnt go beyond what other games have achieved to me wouldnt be in his way of doing things.
Lets see how this pans out...
Yes it is indeed. I agree but in my mind a knee jerk reaction with no backing or reason to assume it is correct.
I'd question why Polphony Digital would go to all the bother to create the most awesome looking car models in any racing game (Regards Premium Cars) to then add on a half assed damage model. Kaz said long ago they wouldnt implement damage until they could do it properly.

Maybe I am reading between the lines in the above quotes.
I guess we will just have to suck it and see come release day like we did with Forza.
