Your Atkins daily diet ideas?

Diets by nature of being a fad don't work, i'm sure someone will have already said it but change your attitude/habits towards eating and you will improve yourself.

Which is what Atkins does if to do it right.
 
The inventor of the atkins diet died of a heart attack. On that damning information alone, don't do it lol

So what? I know loads of builders who do great things but their own buildings are bomb sites.

I know loads of people who can teach prople who to be fit or gain muscle, yet are very opposite in their own bod composition.
 
when i did it my days food was:

breakfast

2 egg omlette

dinner

fried egg
4-6 bacon
2 sausage

tea

steak of some kind
bacon
fried egg

after 2 weeks i started to add a pack of microwave veg in for tea.

after 4 weeks i just started to add more veg in each week till i was back to eating normal amount of carbs.

lost 1 stone in 2 weeks and have kept it off, was over 6 months ago and im now eating normal.

after 2 weeks i was craving anything that wasnt meat. i felt fine on it and after it just wanted some different food groups.

i also didnt do any excersise.

start to like water and green tea.

i really like the atkins diet and really works for for men. people who say it's bad are ignorant about what it's all about.


Breakfast
Mushroom Omlette, some time had crab
Egg and bacon


Lunch
Usually a salad, Ceasar salad no croutons! maybe add some chicken or other meat

Dinner
Meat with some green veg, broccolli/ green beans / cabbage etc

Atkins definately works but its a lifestyle change not a diet, as soon as you start eating carbs the weight will fly back on

But that's the idea of Atkins, you introduce carbs slowly so that you learn to control it better.

the worst bit is if you go out for food. trying to find something you can eat is a pain.

How is it? Almost everywhere does meat or chicken. Just choose sides and sauce carefully.

That sounds amazing but I would miss my bananas and veg and cereal.
 
Don't. The rest of my family did it years ago when it was fashionable. You smell of bacon, fart, and are tired out. (I might be exaggerating slightly:p). I'm currently in the middle of a standard reduce calorie diet and I'm dropping weight just as quick as they did without sweating cheese.

Similar here, Atkins while a form of a diet is pretty carptacular. Best bet is to get your self into the Sports Arena and read up on the many threads about cutting diets. It'll be a good start to shape something far more better for you.


Oh and haha at sweating cheese, made me laugh and wake people up :D

No you're wrong! He slipped on ice whilst walking to work and struck his head which caused massive bleeding around his brain,he was in coma for nine days before dying!
 
3 stone 4lbs, 3 months - no fad diet. Just exercise and relatively balanced food intake. Even have cheat days on Sunday where I can have something a little more 'naughty'.

I've done the atkins before, not worth it.
 
The bad breath is a good sign strangely if you are trying to loss weight using Atkins. What you are smelling is ketones.

I have never used the Atkins diet but have had ketosis many times. I could not smell it myself, but family members could smell it. They didn't describe it as a bad smell thou. More like a fruity or almond like smell.

Atkins does work for many. But you are still going to need to either a. do it forever (Atkins himself doesn't advise this) or b. start another (remember the only way Atkins working has been explained my science is that it is lower calorie) calorie controlled diet.

I believe personally that you could miss the Atkins step and go right to a calorie controlled diet and see the same effects.

The pro's for Atkins are you don't need to work out the calories yourself (as you body naturally lowers how many you consume). It lets you eat things normally restricted by other diets. It works!

If I was going to give advice to someone that is going to do Atkins no matter, it would be you still want to limit 'bad' fats. Which takes away most of the reason a lot of people like the idea of it. Thinking you can pig out on bacon and stuff.
 
anyone done Dukin yet? works on the ketosis, but when you go into maintenance after losing your weight you have to go ketoid one day, by only eating meat on thursdays.
All the skinny fit french women on holiday only ate meat and eggs at breakfast, the nords ate all cereals, the brits gorged everything, and practically no one ate the fruit.
