I can't say that any of those you have mentioned even get into my top 25 shows at the moment and they are a fairly narrow selection of genres out of all those available in different animes.

Lol, nice little series ... unfortunately the same genre show this season, Mitsudomoe, is more gross out humour and just seems crude by comparison ... and nowhere near as funny.

End of the month on R1/A for Eden of the East, (on both blu-ray and DVD).

Not all anime's have dumb main characters or bad guys, don't find that in either of the first two Nanoha series I'm rewatching at the moment, for example. You also have things like Eureka Seven and the GitS SAC series where that isn't the case.

You also have great little series like Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 which are just about characters in a situation and don't have bad guys as such, (although the main problem with this series is that once you have seen it and know the ending then it's not that re-watchable).

@ANDARIAL; the Q&A session with Oyuki Konno is up on the TRSI Marimite site ... no info on any 5th series to bring things to a natural conclusion but does mention that she's started on another series from the Yuki/Kashiwagi point of view which could be amusing.

exactly it really does depend on the show, some do have the 'stupid' leads but if you search there are some pretty deep anime's out there.

I'd personally add rahxephon onto the list as it's more about the growing up and coming to terms side of the story. Then you got things like black lagoon, utawaremono and 7 samurai. Yes they all have humour elements but I wouldn't say the leads are dumb, ie chobits, princess lover that sort of thing type lead but then they're just a different genre.

I'd say don't limit yourself to one type of anime, sometimes you can find a rare gem that you would have missed otherwise.

I think that this is the main point which needs to be emphasised.

Anime can be all sorts of things and limiting yourself to only a small subset of it means you'll miss an awful lot.
 
Thanks for the suggestions will have a look about. Btw if those comments are to me about being limited on anime dont worry i like a lot of diff animes, (got a few hundread series about the house :p, but atm i want to find characters in anime that are like lalouch atm as his character was bloody awesome. Double life, loads of twists to the story, main characters die (felt sry for em bless) a power like geass would be cool but could live without and the whole strive to beat the odds vs a great whatever.
 
well my orders been dispatched from United Publications, apart from burst angel bundle which will be sent when they get it :(

Any idea how long they usually take to get in out of stock stuff, don't normally buy from UP so curiousity. ?

Edit: Buddha also watches over us???? and about Yumi and Kashiwagi???
Sounds like it should be about yumi and the one whose father is a monk ;)

Well as one part of mine is not coming you're going to win so it's not a fair race :p Besides our post doesn't normally turn up till about 3pm most weekdays, saturday is normally before lunch though, I wonder why :o
 
Acemath - if you want to watch something completely different after those series, watch Spice and Wolf season 1/2 straight through and then tell me you're finished watching anime ;) :D

Normally it's how quickly they get it from the suppliers .... for R1 stuff it's 7-10 days normally but I'm not sure for the R2 stuff.

I take it as being Yuki and Kashiwagi which could be humorous given Kashiwagi's preferences which Yuki doesn't share. Although I expect Shimako's father would be in it as he does have a relationship with the other school (there were comments in one of the series three episodes about how he had taken an assembly there).

A series 5 would be good to finish off with the current third years graduation (which I think is the end of the main book stories).
 
Damn Andi...you just cost me £60.

Ordered Elfen Lied, Mezzo, Chrno Crusade and Beserk (the guy on the phone said this one MIGHT be doable because they've only one copy and its been packed for the convention they're attending...)

Just finished rewatching Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's ... carries nigh on straight from the first series and continues in the same vein but with the characters from the first series now faced with a new challenge. Some interesting new characters are added as well. It also, for the most part, loses most of the cringe-worthy transformation sequences.

I like these series, they are good fun to watch and you get dragged into the story. They do suffer for from though from there nearly always being an upgrade to their fighting method to an even more powerful one, (something we normally see in some mecha anime where there's always a bigger and better combination), ... it does get rather silly at times but it's a good enjoyable watch.

You use an assault rifle, I bring a mecha that can target multiple enemies in a nano second with a massive rail gun.

Well got my order this morning (special delivery royal mail), still got to check the ones that I've received out but they're all there lol. I was also told burst angel was no longer available from MVM (I think), looks like I will have to keep an eye out for the box set instead oh well.

Thats pretty normal for me if I order from the rainforest and thats if I order at a weekend, it seems to get here quicker than during the week strangely
