At least Spawn answers questions in an apparently honest manner. Bhavv just spews out nonsense, and when challenged goes into plain "ignore mode" no matter how many times you ask him to answer. He's stopped even acknowledging my requests for answers/further discussion now, yet funnily enough he's STILL having a go at Spawn for "putting people on ignore when they outsmart him". Oh the ironing.

As the Bible also does. The Qu'ran however states that Muslims should fight those who fight them, it states to fight them to the death, but that if they cease then Muslims should show mercy. It also clearly states that their should be no hostility to those who show peace and only to those who practice oppression.
The Qu'ran also states as you said, that Idolaters should be slain wherever you find them, but it goes on to say that there shall be a declaration of immunity from Allah and his Messenger toward those Idolaters with whom you have made agreement.
In the most part, Islam teaches defensive war, not offensive, but unfortunately is is easily justified by Terrorist groups that say they are indeed defending themselves against Western Aggression.
It is as I have said on numerous occasions all a matter of interpretation. You have said yourself that most of it doesn't make sense to you, and this ambiguity is where the interpretation of the Qu'ran is problematical, especially for those who have low levels of literacy in the developing world. They are open to the interpretation of whoever is preaching and this, added to the cultural and economic pressures in the developing world mean that it is easy to use Islam for political ends that have little to do with religion.
As I recall, Islam was born in groups of people that the Jews have had been enemies with for many thousands of years, since OT Bible times.
So while it's not Islam per se, back then, the emnity has its roots thousands of years ago.
Of course, this blurs the lines of cultures and religious groups, which always gets a mixed reaction in these parts.

I didn't ask whether Communist China was in line with your beliefs. I answered your postulation that Muslims somehow have a domain over extremism and that Sharia law is the be-all and end-all of barbarity. I simply pointed out that the completely atheist (almost religiously so, paradoxically) and barbaric Chinese regime loudly disagrees with your claims.

Well said Castiel...its all in the interpretation of the Quran, which a lot of people cant see...some muslims will use it for peaceful means and others will use it to further their own agendas ie Al Qaeda along with a few countries that use Sharia law etc.
Thats the single biggest problem there within Islam as i see it...luckily or i guess in bhavvs opinion unluckily i practise the peaceful side of my faith rather than the extremist version of it...even had him accuse me of reading the wrong version of the Quran back in the draw a prophet thread

Actually the Bible makes a lot more sense than the Koran does, at least its English version is understandable.

LOL im sorry but if anyone is in denial it definitely is YOU but like i said your brain dead to the extent that you cant or refuse to see that. I wont argue that there are muslims who are intolerant of non muslims...ive never said otherwise unless you can show me proof of saying that. But on the whole most muslims i know are pretty tolerant of other faiths whether you care to see that or not..its quite obvious you dont.

...The barbaric Chinese regime is not as much of an international problem, and it doesnt lead to teaching hatred or intolerance towards non Chinese people. The communist government itself is very inhumane and extremist, yet these problems do not lead to conflicts between the chinese people themselves and others, nor do they teach their people to be intolerant or hateful towards other people.
There is a very big difference to me between China's communism, and political Islam.
