Your 1.6 is 75 BHP ? Whats the power like over 3500 revs ? The 1.4 starts to get a bit flat at the point ?
That's because it's a diesel

LOL,
Cheers.
Not sure why that's funny. I want more power and a programmable ECU is the best way to get it. Plus I should be able to use motec again on some types of engines.
I could understand you laughing if I spent thousands doing it.

You cannot polish a turd. I'd buy something else.![]()
You are going to buy a MoTec for a 1.4 TDCI?
Just lol.
How dare you call my car a turdIts not like its north American or anything.
. I drive a Ford Focus so meh, its fairly european.
I did own a Fiesta 1.4 TDCi when in the UK. It was terrible.
Like I said I could use the ECU again if I did go down the fully programmable route. The loom cost would depend on what sensors needed picking up, and on that engine I don't think it would be a great deal. Granted if I wanted all singing data logging model with a host of features to enable me to build a full blown race spec engine in would get very expensive, but all I want is a car in road spec that makes more power.
It's expensive:
An M4 is circa £900
An M400 is £1900
An M600 is £2100
An M800 is £2300
An M880 is £3900
That excludes fitting, mapping and any R&D.

The 1.6 is 90bhp (88ps). Its a DOHC 16v engine. I held out to get this engine over the SOHC 8v 1.4 unit. It pulls perfectly well over 5000rpm. As I said, I've never felt its under powered.Your 1.6 is 75 BHP ? Whats the power like over 3500 revs ? The 1.4 starts to get a bit flat at the point ?
