Yeah but there's gay and there's GAY...

Being Gay is fine, dressing gay (ie being camp) is not...

I have about half a dozen gay friends, one of them one of my best friends. Most are lesbians though, only know a couple of gay guys.

Shame really as some of them are hawt*!

I work with three gay people. They're all highly over the top and 2 of them are very foul mouthed about their sexual preferences and sex in general.

Personally I agree with you, I knew a couple of straight girls who would regularly act "bi" to get some attention. Nice when you're recieving that attention though.

I only know two openly gay blokes - quite frankly I couldn't care less about other peoples sexual preferences, though I do find very 'camp' and 'in your face' gays a bit irritating, but that's due to their behaviour not their sexuality.

I think that's more about social norms than reality. Here and now, it's more acceptable for women to be bi than for men to be bi. In a sense, bisexuality in men isn't really acknowledged. I saw it pithily summed up somewhere - suck one dick and you're gay.
