The pope. Popeing about.

Well it doesn't affect you in anyway so why should you care what people in Poland believe? If they want to be "backward" thats their choice.

Yes it does, my whole family lives there and I spend at least 4 weeks per year there. I have to deal with all kind of crap for just wanting to see my family. Not to mention them speaking about it.\

I also have to deal with ridiculous opinions of my mother because of the stupid upbringing she had there.

Amusing that what your family has a belief in causes you so much angst. :)

Whilst it's fine that she has to deal with your ridiculous opinions too?

Sorry, people who think sex for fun is wrong and it is wrong to watch porn, are simply wrong, end of.

It's just a difference of opinion, I'm not saying you are wrong nor am I saying she is and opinions ought to be challenged. The thing I disagree with is for someone coming along and stating that their opinion is the right one and anything and everything else is wrong.

This is a sensitive&important subject... How can one think having some sex for the sake of it is wrong ? They only think so because they were told it's wrong... The moment parents stop trying to force their belief on their children I'm pretty sure religion would become less and less popular. It is such a mess in Poland because kids are baptized and forced to go to church from young and basically the opinion of their parents is forced on to them so badly, that they start to believe it.

In a normal place ( like here), parents will not force religion on to their kids, the kids will be taught about religion, biology, evolution theory at school and then make up their own mind.

My issue is not the religion itself, my issue is the attitude of religious people forcing their religion to their offspring, which as a result do the same, and the chain continues...

I wonder how many people in Celtic tops will visit him when he comes to Glasgow. Then all the Rangers fan will stroll along just to wind them up because there is some kind of ridiculous "religious" warfare among these fans.

Idiots.

I agree with you that people should make up their own minds with regards to religion, and should be allowed to explore all roots that they want too and decide what religion to follow or none at all (and everything in between).
I'm not religious in the slightest, and my parents never forced me into thinking one way or the other.
Though it must be suggested that there is a thin line between parents forcing religion onto their children, and parents practising their religion with their children for whatever reason.

There are various reasons why thinking sex for pleasure is wrong (and whilst I don't think there is anything wrong with it and rather enjoy taking part in pleasure) and I respect those choices if the person is able to explain the reasons for that. If those reasons happen to include religious decisions then I will respect them even if I'm not a believer.

It's not fair to call him a Nazi. The reality is simply that as a youth he wasn't willing to defy the Nazis by himself at the height of their power. All he did was join a youth group that he was required by law to join, nothing more than that. Just like every other German his age did. You expect a 14 year old in a country ruled by the Nazis to defy them over such a trivial thing?

The problem being it was at those groups they taught people to be Nazi's, to hate other people, to want to breed a better race, etc, etc. That doesn't mean he IS a Nazi or believes their values, but the youth groups were little more than an attempt to influence and basically brainwash the youth of Germany into believing a certain way.

There were many Nazi's who killed for their country only because their country was at war, not just because they believed all Jews had to die. Theres plenty of germans who faught in the war who knew what was happening was wrong, there were plenty who believed in it who after the war realised it was completely wrong and believe something completely different, theres plenty of people who after the war still believed but lied about it and kept it private, because everyone is different.

If he hasn't pushed a Nazi agenda then theres little reason to call him a Nazi, calling him a ridiculous old deluded moron stealing from the poor to help the rich though, thats entirely fair. ;)

The pope can "popeoff" for all i care, his popemobile is kinda wacky looking though so that gives him a little bit of "cool", whenever i see it I immediately want to fill it with water and stick some fish in.

If its fish, make sure its a shoal of Piranha while they're at it. :p :o

He's coming to a building opposite my office on Hagley Road and ITV have been in today asking if they can film from our office as it's a direct vantage point. We've agreed provided they bring the biscuits.

Cardinal Wang made the decisive vote to make him Pope.

There was a fella on that crappy religion show on BBC1 on Sunday mornings the other day (left TV on from MOTD the night before, not watching it out of choice :o) who they interviewed on the topic of "Is the church obsessed by sex?" and his name was Father Wang. I'd been awake about 30 seconds and burst out laughing :o
