just doing the rounds today and came across this, not neccessarily iOS bashing here, but coming from 3 iphones to a desire myself its clear to see apple may need to loosen its strategy a little if it has any interest in becoming trully competitive.
gone are the days where the iphone was the top dog, the need to have device - its becoming increasingly outdated with every phone release from htc, samsung and similar.
I guess if your an apple lover, one would say thats its not fair bc android is on about 20 times more phones then iphone, but thats kinda missing the point considering its apples strategy to adopt that position- and if they can only manufacture one phone a year compared to say htc's 4 or 5 that appeal to all market types then their always going to be behind.
A research firm projected Apple will sell 130 million iOS-based mobile devices per year by 2014. In comparison, Gartner projected Android will sell 259 million devices in 2014.
that if it turns true is a massive massive difference.
