10.9 Cat's out today?

Well we've had ATI vs nVidia, some iPhone trolling - all we need now is Muslims and we can give this thread the official OcUK stamp.

So i'll start.

SEND THEM BACK!

I presume it's ok to manually delete the AMD driver install files from your Steam folder, once installed?

I wish driver programs would tidy up these things after they install, I don't see the point in leaving them lying around, taking up precious SSD space.

Not had a single problem with ATI's drivers till this revision. It BSOD me. :p

Crysis and wolfenstein locked up after around 3 hours with these also. Seem's the driver doesn't control fan speeds properly like previous releases and lets them rise past throttling points, crashing games in the process due to dropping the framerate to 0 lol.

Installed and was lazy and didn't reboot, had some video playback issues initially and decided it would be best to restart (after my pc froze itself to death!)

Since then I've had absolutely no problems, fairly happy with this set overall.

Galaxy or desire whip the iphone, anyway back on topic

Gone back to 10.4a for me, I'm not going to update drivers until they fix the idle clocks issue when overclocked.

Yes it is, even full uninstall didnt remove these!

It pops up a UAC warning every time I login to Windows 7. I know there's some kind of workaround for that too, but it's too much hassle :)

yeah, the workaround is installing the latest version.

Now MSI Afterburner uses previously undocumented power user oriented startup mode via the task scheduler under Windows Vista / Windows 7. MSI Afterburner launch no longer requires UAC confirmation at Windows startup. Please take a note that Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 runtime libraries must be installed to get new startup mode working

That sounds like a lot of hassle to me :/

Oh, and...

OMG RELIGION IS FAKE! SEND THE POPE BACK! :D

How can religion be fake if it's a set of beliefs/disbeliefs? Everyone has one or shares one with a group of other people, unless they're retarded and don't compute these things.

Trolololo

Back on topic, these drivers are working fine for me, have sorted idle clocks with Afterburner a long time ago, since 2.0 it doesn't set the wrong clocks for flash playback and doesn't crash anymore. Only problem may be playing flash videos when gaming. It would crash on my PC due to higher clocks (but it's been happening since overclocking with Afterburner in Unofficial Overclocking Mode).

Then I'd say you'll be stuck on 10.4 for the rest of time.

Don't know why it bothers you to be honest.....

With world hunger, soaring food prices, global warming, the popes visit to the UK, women, work, money and everything else that occupies the life's of people these days you would think that there are more important things to consider then higher idle clocks on your video card.

I'm mean seriously how is this such an issue? Go out with friends, learn a new language, spend time with your family or girlfriend just because your video is 10c hotter then it was previously really isn't a big deal.

Ok, was gonna ignore this but decided to answer. Yes I do all the things you suggest I should do, inferring I dont have a life etc. But this is a computer enthusiast forum for airing problems and gripes and frankly I come on here to escape thinking about losing my job, my house, world poverty etc and all that crap you mentioned instead of a useful suggestion or answer to my problem. While its great that the idle clocks\overclocking thing doesn't bother you you have no right to **** off me because i have a differing opinion from you. Higher clocks, higher power, higher temps dont bother you then may I politely suggest you dont belong on this forum as that is the sort of problem this forum thrives on. I do however defend your right to your opinion but you were well wide of the mark my friend.

ATI have still not fixed BFBC2.

I was getting texture corruption (looks like fireworks in the background) with my 3870x2.... I recently upgraded to a 5870, but the 10.9 drivers still do the same thing.

Ay one know what im saying?

It doesnt bother me, just would be nice for it to get fixed..
