I get this as well. There seems to be a surge in advertising for dating sites in the media which suggest that "OMG YOU NEED A PARTNER TO BE HAPPY YOU LOSER!". :rolleyes:

Over the past few years I've had some casual relationships but nothing serious since my last long-term gf. I'm just not interested in getting tied into anything serious, plus I have precious little spare time, and I don't want it all being stolen by a girlfriend right now. I'm happy as I am too!

I don't know how everyone can say you were justified without first hearing quotations of what the woman said. For all we know she was simply jesting in a friendly manner that he was single and it's about time he found someone, and he came out with a remark that was uncalled for.

On the other hand maybe she was being a *****, but without quotes first I don't think anyone should be shouting high fives.

OP give some quotes please.

No he didn't. All he said was she started drilling him for being single. One persons definition of that is different to anothers. Without quotes you dont know if what she said was just friendly banter about the fact eh was single or being a proper *****

Kinda hard to know without actually being there. Was she being "jokey" and poking fun at you and then you overreacted......or was she being bitchy and deserved it.
