Imagine a car so narrow that two can drive next to each other in one lane; a car so small and short that three can park in one parking space.
...
Well, that car has been made - it seats three, weighs just 575kg, has a top speed of almost 100mph, does over 70mpg and is expected to cost about £6,000. (BBC on-line)
Now we're talking sense :)

Hell no, two in a lane are you nuts ! just imagine if you got a hit by a big truck, youd essentially end up looking like the contents of a can of chopped tomatoes, not good!

Why can't they make tiny eco cars look good!! Then some people might be tempted..

and also, 74mpg? My dad's mondeo estate averages 55mpg and that's massive in comparison with this.

Good idea IF and only IF all cars were like this and ran on separate roads from trucks and busses.

Being in one in normal traffic is asking for crushy-bloody-gooey death.

74mpg is pathetic for that! Something like a p.o.s. Polo bluemotion does nearly that, whilst looking like a proper car, seating 5 etc..

No worse than a motorcycle.

I think the problem with the car is partially its cost point which restricts a decent engine. Hence I guess they have the SMART engine which is limiting its performance on NEDC. Its weight should make it champion that! Even throw £1000 at materials cost against 85mpg and the return is A LONG TIME.

You can't have all your cake!

Do it too well and its too expensive to buy so the company makes no money - ala Honda Insight and Audi A2.

So the T25 gives a 35% improvement, whilst using a (slightly)cheaper fuel which doesn't produce clouds of soot. Why is that a bad thing?

It can only transport only 3 people, a normal car can transport 5 ( hell, I've fitted 7 ( 2 in the boot) into the Volvo on my holiday for a short trip to town...), you can't really transport ''stuff'' about, it's slow ( imagine going on the autobahn with this ), uncomfy.

I don't really see this an improvement over cars like a Toyota IQ or Aygo... If you want smaller cheaper, go the 50cc voiturette/microcar route, if you want to go on the motorway or go fast, get a normal car.
