***** Playstation Move Thread *****

The Tiger Woods demo won't calibrate with my motion controller, it says point directly at the camera which I do then press select then on the right it shows an animation telling you to hold the controller down. I keep pressing select but it won't have it.

Apparently theres a shortage of stock for the Move Controllers and retailers are struggling to get stock once they sell out of their initial allocation

sports champions table tennis is fantastic, we got one set up on our store and i'm loving it .
just a great laugh watching customers trying to play table tennis ,never seen so many kak handed people .
a lot of the sceptical folks have been won over by watching me demonstrate my table tennis skills , lol

just a quick question ,can you use the gun attachment for resi evil ?

Lack of sidestepping is annoying though. Hate having to turn to move everywhere. Don't mind having to stop whilst aiming, but would be nice to sidestep :)

Im sure i read that the buttons on the Wand can do sidestep on a certain button config, dont know which one though. On a side note do the trophys from 5 carry over to gold or does it count as a new game?

From the photos I have seen, the gun attachment is nothing more than a holder for the move controller. You plug the move controller into it down the barrell. I think its design is pretty basic, you squeeze the trigger and a mechanism then pushes the trigger on the move controller.

Bought a second move controller too today and makes the archery a right laugh on Sports Champion.

Can anyone tell me why some of the Sports Champion games were not selectable when I tried to fire them up? I could only try the frisbee thing and the table tennis.

I so called that a week ago.

Yes you did and thing is, I know of one store in town that is now out of stock for the wand controller..

Watch ebay become a quick buck for some as they try and cash in...

I wonder, just what the sales of these things are for Sony. has this been a success?

In fact 1 or 2 online stores now out of stock for the move starter pack, just checked. You was right, good call. Glad I listened to you and got mine on launch weekend. I reckon they do this on purpose to up the interest. nothing worse then not being able to get the latest gadget, ups the news and talk about it... lol

Failure tbh :p Months to prepare, manufacture, distribute and they still can't get enough stock into shops!! Like you I suspect they want to make it appear successful to the media etc. And I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, all companies do it to some degree, it's just shortages and Sony seem to go hand in hand :)

For those with the Move and resident evil, can you calibrate the controller for different setups?

I hear that it uses the middle button for firing and not the trigger?

If so thats pretty sucky lol, and would mean u cant play it with the gun attachments they are bringing out?

If you look around there is one that fits the motion controller in the top and the navigation controller at the bottom so u can use the gun 2 handed and still move/shoot, would be epic to use that to play the game.

I cannot believe how far Sony are trying to push the move in order to make a profit. For one they made a USB camera that does not even mount to your television but is designed to sit on it as if we all still use the old CRT brown box that has room for your mothers ornaments and plants. So they compensate this by selling a bracket (yet more money). Now the gun attachment?? and how in anyway does that actually improve your accuracy in games like the shoot and maybe time crisis where you don't even aim down the sight of the gun but try to aim the rectile on the screen on your target.

Don't get me wrong I love the move I think it's a fantastic addition for the PS3 but it's like they are trying to sell it bit by bit kind of like trying to sell a games console and then sell the leads and everything else separate.

Both PS and Xbox cameras are designed the same way as they are designed to be stood on a flat base, they don't nessecarily have to be at the top of the TV although Move works better as I understand it. Kinect also appears to have a flat base.

The gun attachment is an option, the Wii also offers one. It's to make people feel more like they are in the game by holding a "gun" rather than a plastic wand with a glowy ball on the end. Now your holding a gun with a glowy ball on the end but you can pretend that's the bullets *pew pew*

You don't need the one, and as far as I'm aware Sony don't sell an official camera mount.

Ok so the mount is not Sony's but they could have added it to the camera. It won't be long before they make there own mount for the camera anyway. The gun addition, I can now see why that would appeal to the old school hardcore Arcade shot fans (thanks Windle) but I can't see it helping. Anyway regardless of all this I love the move I just wish it had more games for it on release.

MS are guilty of trying to get the extra bit of money out of gamers no more then Sony..

xbox live isn't free, a 360 needs, or at least at one time needed an addtional bit of networking kit to make it wireless and you still need a USB play n charge kit for all 360 controller pads.

the bracket for the eye camera is a nice to have, but someone did say... just use some blu tack if you're being cheap..

I don't think Nintendo, Sony or MS are in this game to give anything of too much value away without some sort of charge attached to it.. Sadly.

Haven't worked that out, you most certainly cannot move left to right, or even look up or down without aiming first... Meaning then you can't move back or foward...

Game has some rather quirky limits, but apparently as this is a res evil game, its allowed... If this was a FPS (not saying this game is) but if it was, then everyone would be up in arms..

good game, weird movement method..

RE5 doesn't let you config the buttons, it only let's you choose from two profiles which are very similar. Can't remember exactly what the differences are, but it's something like use L2 (trigger on nav controller) to sprint instead of X.

Try this,

For those of you not getting a clamp, here's a great tip:

http://kotaku.com/5626933/how-to-mount-that-playstation-eye-camera-with-minimal-fuss

You just dangle it over the top of the tv, it's got a flat back and the pull of the cable fixes it to the tv.
