I'm still slightly confused by this scripting talk to be honest. I just look at the white dots on the mini map to see how far ahead, behind I am. I don't use the times of the 4 or so cars shown in the top left. I guess on longer races (I do 3 laps) you would refer to those times to plan pit stops etc, so they need to be correct. But for short races it is a non issue to me.
Also, unless I am mistaken it has no effect on online racing? I have played 90% online so far. I will do the F1 championship offline at some point, but, like many other games, I want to enjoy the online while there is still a large playerbase and minimum hacks/cheats/boosters, as there will be at some point (like in most games). At that point I will play SP and hope some of these flaws have been patched.
The Codemasters forums say they are having a meeting on Monday to discuss the game. Whether it is to address the flaws or to rub their hands about how much money they have made in less than 1 week, I am uncertain
