Codemasters F1 2010 X360/PS3 (contains important question about 2011 game!!!)

Had a funny moment last night.

Was playing Melbourne on career, and just after my pitstop I could see Kubica crashing wildly down in to the first corner. Naturally, I floored it to make a move while he was busy flipping everywhere.. only to find that once his wheels were back on the track he was up to pace before I could pass :(

This was with realistic damage. I thought the AI suffered damage? If that'd been me I would have wrecked it.

Does everyone adjust their Wing much?

Yes. Although you are limited to 2 changes per lap on career, so I start the lap by checking what the default setting in and just adjust it as needed. Obviously, keeping the low aero for the straights and the high for the technical corners or fiddly bits.

Will also use it if the car has taken front end damage (i.e. to compensate).

Yeah they suffer damage. When I raced in Monza, about 8 cars went out due to losing their wheel / too much damage. Webber and Alonso crashed which caused a mass pile up. Wish I took a picture.

I think dannyjo22 is playing a different game to most people here :D

I'm talking about when the weather changes mid race. It makes no difference to my lap times. I can stay on slicks or if it's drying stay on inters and it makes no odds.

If it's full wet then I notice the difference from the start. Try this then, full wet race and put on traction control, watch it make no difference to how quick you get off the start line or how much traction you have leaving the bends compared to the AI, it's as though they have it on anyway.

Hmm, I have had the race start dry and then it rained, switched to Inters and lost 3-4 seconds on lap times. Didn't noticed the AI times if that is what you mean.

So you're saying that when the weather changes mid-race, you're only getting a visual effect with no change of physics?

In some highstreet gaming shops, I've seen them, £80 with some Codemasters game, that was on the weekend, so I think trawling the shops might be in order.

They've just sold out, no more for Europe!, such a shame!

I prey MS persuade Fanatec to make a Carrera wheel that would be 360/cross platform, get that right at £150 for the wheel/pedals etc, it'd sell like hotcakes..

I got one that was opened but unused on ebay! Cost me an arm and a leg so I'm going to see if I get on with it, if not I will be selling it straight on as I know I can easily make my money back on it, will post back here if I don't get on with it.

Next time don't switch and see what happens.

The only slight change I get is if I lock up I slide for a touch further. If I can bang in say 1.20's before the rain I've been able to continue on a slick and carry on banging in 1.20's. The trouble being that the AI pits and with the rubber banding they bang in fast lap times too.

I wish you could review lap times for everyone at the end of the race. Just did brazil and was following the leader, both of us on the option tyre. He pits I stay out for 9 more laps on the option and bang in 9 laps all in the 1.14's. Which was what we both did to get on the front row. 1 lap from the end I pit to put on the prime, come out the pits 3 seconds behind webber.

That's ridiculous, for starters how was he beating my lap time on the prime. I'd love to see his laptimes to see how much faster the AI was suddenly going.

Hmm who to sign for Torro Rosso or BMW Sauber

I'm sick of being nice to Lotus in interviews, i will sign for someone else then **** them off.

Lots of people driving for Lotus, I picked Force India for my first season

Doing ok usually in the top 5 or top 10 on professional, think i might up difficulty to legend though

Finally caved in and got this on Monday and I must say I am loving it so far. Jumped straight in on Suzuka & Catalunya on time trial (both tracks I know well from Forza) with all the assists off to see how I went. First few laps were interesting but once I had adjusted all my turn in & braking points I struggled to put the pad down. Really rewarding when you string together a decent lap.

I wasn't sure what AI level to set it too so I did a quick GP on legend and got hammered before starting career and switching to Pro. Fastest in practise, qualifying and won the race by a mile @ Bahrain  So I switched it back to legend for Melbourne and this time it seemed about right. Qualified 12th and after a small bump and smashing my front wing ended 11th. Absolutely love Melbourne, brilliant track! The only odd thing was that the AI seemed far too slow at turns 5, 11 & 12. So easy to make time doing 5 flat and lifting round 11 & 12.

As for bugs so far the only gripes I have is during a quick GP I constantly managed to pick up punctures. Was racing round Spa and managed to get punctures on all tyres within 3 corners on the same lap. Not had the pitstop bug yet *fingers crossed* Visually it looks fairly good, few slow downs but nothing horrid even during the rain. I can vouch for Dannyjo also, practise at Melbourne was 83% chance rain. Started dry then begin to rain after afew laps. Out on options it made no difference at all to my times until I pitted and went out again.

Right. Is this game worth a rental? I'm not bad at Forza (I'm not good either, mind, as anyone who's raced with me will tell you) so will I be able to pick this up OK?

i found a bug last night online
it was late and there were only 4 in the race
on the first lap 2 crashed and must have left the game leaving 2 cars left
i managed to lap the other driver, but a few corners later he got back past unlaping himself. the bug was the game put him in first place and he won the race :( but he was a lap behind
