Do you drive with the rear wiper on?

My car doesn't have an intermittent rear wipe and the blade isn't in the best condition. A single wipe won't clear the screen so I just leave it on when it's raining, especially on the motorway where the spray can quickly impact visibility.

If the view out of the back is blurred I turn it on. Turn it off when it makes a noise. It's been a long time since I changed the blade.

Nope, it will come on at the beginning of the journey or if I stop, but generally when going at anything over 10mph rain barely hits the rear screen, same can't be said for those flat back hatchbacks which need cleaning every 2 minutes it seems, due to the kick up of spray.

I turn it on when it needs to be on, usually one wipe then off for a while

This, but if the rain is heavy enough, then I'll leave it on, as the spray quickly covers my back window.

Also, I can't think I've ever driven a car that had a rear wiper that went at 'full tilt'. Even when turned on, it's just like having the front wipers on intermittent.

I hadn't noticed this before, but my car wipes itself if I put it into reverse, i was impressed

its the little things (thats what i tell my bird too!)

I never have it activated for periods of time, just for one activation to clear the screen. Then I may do it a few minutes later.

Same for me. If I'm making slow progress in traffic in town or something and it's chucking it down, I'll leave it on intermittent, but once you're up to any sort of real speed it becomes unnecessary.

It depends.

I drive an estate car and the rear window seems to get very gunked up, when its raining the rear window is virtually useless unless i have the rear wiper on all of the time.

It is annoying to see, but i use my rear and side mirrors regularly so i see it as a necessity to be able to see clearly through them.

No, I don't have one, and I don't really need one.

Going above 40mph the wind is enough to clear the window, slowing down makes it harder to see though.

Learnt to live with it, first car, just got used to looking in the rear view mirror and the window not taking up all the vertical plane.

Pic doesn't really do justice to how high the boot is and how little you can see!
Took me a good few weeks to work out parking!

(I have the five door varient)

A/C, depends on the car. The clio has one and sucks up spray like crazy, so if it's very wet then it tends to stay on.

My Camaro doesn't have one and doesn't really need one, as long as you're moving it stays dry and clears pretty quickly if wet.
