ITT: team fortress 2 discussion :)

Ive always wanted to get into it, but it just always seemed a bit too much like hard work. Is there tutorial servers so you play without getting slagged off for being a noob and that teach you what to do with each class?

TF2 is a great game recently RUINED by the addition of paid for hacks.
Pay £12.99 and you get a hack that lets you never get headshotted.
Blatent desperate greed by Valve :(

They've been chucking out a huge amount of free extra content for the last 2 years since launch and you complain they are greedy.

Metalface Mark - There is a basic training course and an offline against bots option.

The only game that can have me in stitches one minute, gnawing my arm off in frustration the next.

I've been playing Team Fortress on and off for what seems like forever (my forum username is my old TF Classic name) but considering I paid for the current incarnation some ... 5? 6? years ago and haven't forked over a bean since, it's really unique. This just wouldn't happen on a console - we'd be up to "Team Fortress 17: Dance for the shiny pennies, drones" and bullets would be the DLC.

I've been playing a lot of pyro lately - it really used to be something that no-one would seriously consider playing, now it's pretty cool (or should that be hot?)

ill teach you what to do with each class.,

Heavy -kill people
Soldier -kill people
Demo - kill people
Scout -bounce around kill people
Medic - Heal people/kill people
Engineer - build stuff /kill people
Sniper - kill people in the head
Spy - kill people from behind

if you have ever ever ever played a FPS before you will know what to do in 10 seconds.

Play a medic if its your first go cos at least you will be useful in the hour it takes you to learn to not suck.

Excellent game but have not played it in years, just reminded me maybe i should start to play again :D

i play this with a controller too so its win win :)

I don't have an issue with the new shop, it's about time they made some money again, but I do actually (somewhat) agree with this. The game isn't ruined, just slightly tarnished. The new buff is incredibly difficult to achieve without dishing out for it, and gives a clear advantage to those who wear the correct items. This means, in time, nobody will wear what they want to wear, just what gives them a buff.

It's also no longer a side-grade, that's what I loved about TF2 unlocks, they made you play differently, not simply better. These just make you better in a passive fashion, you don't even need to change your style.

There is also no way to work towards this buff, it would take hundreds of hours and is totally random, it could potentially take thousands of hours.

Even if money grabbing scummers like Activision sold stat buffs I would be insulted, never expected this from Valve.

Regardless it's still a fantastic game that just gets better and better, it grows year on year and is mostly free. Absolute bargain.

I gave up when the whole unlocks lark came in as well as the fact that there weren't many good player-made maps akin to the quality that TFC had.
