TF2 is a great game recently RUINED by the addition of paid for hacks.
Pay £12.99 and you get a hack that lets you never get headshotted.
Blatent desperate greed by Valve![]()
Ive always wanted to get into it, but it just always seemed a bit too much like hard work. Is there tutorial servers so you play without getting slagged off for being a noob and that teach you what to do with each class?

And you started so well
I don't have an issue with the new shop, it's about time they made some money again, but I do actually (somewhat) agree with this. The game isn't ruined, just slightly tarnished. The new buff is incredibly difficult to achieve without dishing out for it, and gives a clear advantage to those who wear the correct items. This means, in time, nobody will wear what they want to wear, just what gives them a buff.
It's also no longer a side-grade, that's what I loved about TF2 unlocks, they made you play differently, not simply better. These just make you better in a passive fashion, you don't even need to change your style.
There is also no way to work towards this buff, it would take hundreds of hours and is totally random, it could potentially take thousands of hours.
Even if money grabbing scummers like Activision sold stat buffs I would be insulted, never expected this from Valve.
Regardless it's still a fantastic game that just gets better and better, it grows year on year and is mostly free. Absolute bargain.

You seem to forget that all of those side-grade items required hundreds of hours playtime in the first place, yet you don't complain about that. The Mann Co update evens the playing field for new players so if they want, they can instantly have a Huntsman, Dead Ringer or Sidney Sleeper, and Valve get to make some money. I don't see the problem?

It's not up anymore. It wasn't getting any use after we stopped having game nights and was just eating resources. Since then I talked to Link and got it back up, but didn't actually get around to making any game nights and it once again started gathering dust. My fault, sorry![]()
Fail.
Now if i was to want to get a decent score then yes id play with a mouse and k/b...and fail...
what is this, i signed up to this forum for the nice community here..
I haven't forgotten anything, there were number of ways you could unlock previous items, including Achievements, inexpensive crafting and drops. The last update they released I got all the items in a single day. That's why I don't complain about it. The Mann Co doesn't even the playing field, because it is HIGHLY unlikely that will be able to earn the items in a reasonable time frame, as the rare hats are now required to earn the buff. You seem to forget that all of those side-grade items required hundreds of hours playtime in the first place, yet you don't complain about that. edit:
The only thing I don't like about the new update is people now spamming "WANT TO TRADE FOR XYZ" in chat. I wish there was a specific trading channel on servers that you could opt out of :/
It's hardly an overreaction is itPeople always overreact to micro transactions, regardless of how reasonable they are.
The buffs aren't worth it. The only buffs that are worth it are the pyro ones (because all of his new items are really good) and the scouts because again, his items are actually good. I dislike the short-stop and so do 90% of the scouts I play with (some very good scouts) but the short-stop is not a bad weapon after using it a bit more. The other classes make you use weapons that are worse than the older unlocks or the original weapons.
The soldier makes you get rid of your shotgun for a defensive buff banner, and the buff is 20% damage resistance to sentry guns. I can tell you right now as I have about 500 hours of soldier that that is not worth it whatsoever, the defensive buff banner is pretty cool but the shotgun is so so so so useful. I can't comment on the spy, the weapons do drastically change how that class is played so I'll agree with you there. The sniper ones, well, you can't headshot anything so it's an even trade off for not being able to headshot someone with this buff. A fully charged bodyshot is still going to kill a sniper, even with his new extra health shield.
You are right, the buffs have a relationship with the item set, it's just that two people using the same items in the same style will not be an even match if one has an incredibly rare an usually purely cosmetic item. While this skews the battle in the favour of paying customers in this instance (and may not even be as powerful as other unlocks), I realise it hardly breaks the game, it just slightly irks me.Lets see what the items give you that you need to gain the 'no headshot' protection.
The weapon itself has similar stats to the basic sniper rifle, except it can't headshot, and it causes jarate on hit.
The Danger Shield is just the razorback with a +25 health bonus... the razorback itself was never really too useful anyway, as I always found the spg or jarate to be a better use of the slot. While this does seem to make the razorback useless, I'm not sure how it actually reacts to backstabs, maybe it doesn't stun?
The Bushwacka knife crits instead of mini crits, obviously designed to hit jarate'd opponents, in exchange you have the 20% fire vulnerability, making you weaker to pyros, which is hardly an issue.
So in exchange for an immunity to headshots, you can't headshot enemies, which is the main draw to the sniper class. Hardly broken, bodyshots will almost kill you anyway.
Hahahai play this with a controller too so its win win![]()
I've tried TF2 many times, when it came out in Orange pack, when it was ported to mac, and for its cleverness, and graphical appeal and humour, it is, by far, the most unrewarding multiplayer game I have ever played. Similar to just about every Valve multiplayer, the maps are claustrophobically small and overcrowded, it's is literally three corners, two corridors and couple main rooms where the battle actually take place on most of the maps and the gaming experience is alike running around your house with a baseball bat most of the time. The props are easily destroyed, making building of sentries almost pointless with 15 players running around spray shooting everything across the same tiny space. Finally the game itself, on most servers is just spam fest - you run through small corridors shooting everything that moves in face, for all intents and purposes it's Quake I with cartoon characters - no cleverness, no team work - not even a goal build up of simple games, like W:ET, which is now what - 8 years old?
I really want to like it, love the idea, classes and characters, but the gaming experience is just not doing it for me.
