Supplements the debate/discussion thread

I quite liked them Benny - though the chocolate peanut was better than chocolate orange.

Used them a while back when I was doing a lot of work in our data centre, nice quick snack. Too expensive to eat normally though :(

Ah i was about to post that link to DM article lol
its a load of bull tbh.

edit: wow, first post in this thread!

Just switched from plain ultra fine oats to strawberry flavour for a change, yum.

Speaking of test boosters, I just finished 2 cans of animal test, the thing is pretty amazing.
First of all let me reasure that this is not a steroid, prohormone or such thing, it's perfectly ok, legal and can be bought from lots of shops.

I am a 21 year old male with a decent diet and without silly amounts of alcohol in it too often so I think I'm more or less at my peak naturally at this point.

But this has made things very interesting. Basically I started the Animal test and AGVT at the same time, just finished both now and had some decent gains.
Eg: bench press went up from a PB of 110 to 130, I haven't tried a 1rm squat (will do this weekend) yet but it should be around 20kg higher as well, I've gained a bit of mass as well.

The main effect of it which has made it worth every penny imho was the fantastic increase in recovery. Although AGVT has some horrenduous workouts (10 sets of heavy squats with slow negatives anyone?), I hardly ever fell to too sore, now i'm back to the old 4 day split and I'm limping as hell because I finished the last can a week ago.
My typical leg day involves 3-4 days of rather noticeable soreness, I don't even dare to think how AGVT would have been without it.

Despite the extra random erection here and there there were no increases in agression or anything like that, I know some people will wonder so I thought i'd mention this.

All in all a very expensive but rather worthwhile supplement, especially if you're going through a demanding programme.

Are you reffering the 'Animal M-Stak'?

My old training partner used to use 'Animal Pak's' which essentially is a supreme multi-vit/mineral combination.

M-Stak got a warm welcome over on UKM but it's not an entirely 'un-assisted' forum.

No, I am referring to Animal Test :) You can get it for about £50 online in the uk
The "Animal" range includes pak, flex, m stack, etc.

Animal pak is indeed a multi vitamin with mahoosive pills which the only effect was turning my pee into a bright yellow-green.
Animal Flex is a fantastic joint aid thing which was of great help to my when I started lifting and my joints could not get strong at the same rate as my muscles. Still use it now whenevern I go for really heavy weights, really nice as well.
Animal M-stack is a nice pump supplement, rather expensive for what it does mind you but not bad. However, it is nowhere near close to Animal Test

Are you sure it's not just the AGVT program and the fact you're young and that the intensive routine likely pushed up your test levels up owing to the muscle usage whilst doing it?

Amongst my 'invoicing' this morning  I did a bit of reading on Animal Test.

Pritty typical mixed reviews. a lot of people praising it with the occasion post saying no noticable differences. Has been reffered to as the most potent product in it's genre.

I'd probaly say a lot of the endurance has come from the volume of AGVT as some of the strength gains though this isn't to say that Animal Test hasn't helped of course.

I've got a bit of an itch to try it if im honnest. My logic tells me not to though! Steep price tag too.

Haha I'm the extact same Benny, my local irish supplier stocks it and I've always been tempted. They claim is great, but there really are mixed reviews.

Maybe one of these days I'll buy some and let you know how it goes.

the strength gains - yes it was because of the programme.
But the recovery... no way in hell. I also did GVT in January and the soreness was simply inhuman, I sincerely doubt AGVT would have made me less sore.

The simple fact that I stopped taking it early last week and by now I get as sore as I used to in the past even though I'm back on a normal less demanding split confirms this.

I didn't say all the gains were because of it, but the recovery certainly is. Might work for some, might not for others, but in my experience it was worth the stupidly expensive price and would certainly buy again in the future, I tought I'd just share my 2p.:)

I'll do a bit more reading, before I splash out though I do fancy trying something new. Not expecting miracles but as long as I gain something from it whether it be more focus, a more intense work out, bigger pump, increased libido, some re-compositioning etc I won't be dissapointed.

If however I notice jack **** from it I'll be disappointed!

Supposedly a 42 day course (2 tins) is recommended and then to run M-stak after to help retain gains. Though I think if I did try it i'll buy the 1 tin and see how I get on and go from there.

SS Health Foods have it the cheapest I've seen at £49.99.

Will speak to my chap in Lincoln and see what he makes of it.

Like any supplement, that stuff might help a little but I'd say it was your routine and hopefully your increased kcal intake that has made the most impact.
Avgt is a great routine that is proven year after year remember :)

Benny, I don't see the point really in trying it really. If you are gonna cross that ground then there are better ways to do it, as you will know :)

Mate honestly 50 quid for what? don't waste your cash... I've used it before because I got the tin for free for giving my mate a jacket I had that didn't fit me so it was no loss.... It made zero difference really.

I'll be straight with you okay... anything over the counter is very UNLIKELY to produce any sort of decent GAIN. It's not potent enough simply put. I think your simply looking for an edge on your training/gains, but the answer really is to bump the calories up if your not gaining, or change your routine. And you know what the other option is....

But in speaking of that you know the gains I have made, it's all thru diet manipulation and training. Simple put if your not gaining your doing something wrong somewhere along the lines.

Ta for the replies.

Like I mention my logic knows that it's all a bit of a farce. Think I was bored at work today!

Am making some gains/progress with my current training and have recently this last week bumped up my calorie intake around 2-300 calories as I brought some bars from MP to bump my order over for free delivery so once I've finished them will find a food source to replace them. Most likely nuts as I have a **** load left over from my last bulk.

I think my intake may have been slightly too low so will bump it up and then get my arse on the x-trainer & CV to keep off any unwanted fat gains and keep the ticker in good order.
