You've used money you don't have, your bank has charged you for the privilege. You're warned about this in full before you open an account so you can't say you weren't told.

Halifax is worse, i was around 1.50 which i paid the next day. I ended up with £95 overdraft fee's. Went in the shop and they took £32 off ;/ still had to pay the rest tho.

I have a £3,500 overdraft with my bank. I pay £35 a year for the privilege. They charge a tiny amount of interest on it, but there are no fees. I don't think I've ever actually been into the overdraft.

Wait...

Thread title: 2.61 overdrawn = 39£ in fees

So you have been lying to us. You are in fact £152.61 overdrawn. You just lost all sympathy.

I never had any sympathy in the first place. If you have to pay fees on your overdraft, you don't go into it.

to be fair lloyds are the biggest bunch of incompetants, the missus had charges due to an admin error which lead to more and more charges as they snowballed. she got some of it back fortunately.

up to £20/day in fees is a plain rip off.

That's a waste of £35 a year then, I get £500 for no fee and I've gone into it once...

Nope none at all. When you know you are hovering close to your limit you make sure you put money into your account.
