Civic Type R owners please...

I can't seem to find a definite answer to the Civic Type-R serive schedule.

12,500 seems to be a common occurance to some google searches but Im unsure whether there is a timeframe with it aswell?

12,500/x years?

Which will bring me onto the second question -

A 52 plate Civic Type R with 45k miles on the clock. 5 Honda service stamps.
The last service being September 2009.

Are there some missing? Or has it had too many?
 
The service interval is that many miles or annually as far as I know so if it's only had 5 then it's missing 2 according to my calcs.
 
That's what I thought. Which is strange as it's a 1 owner car will all services at Honda so it's been looked after.

For my Accord I queried the service intervals with Honda UK who told me it wasn't simply mileage based.

I wonder if the services were initially done annually till the car went out of warranty after which the owner changed to mileage based to save some money?
 
Its missing a couple the owner probably didnt bother having them done according to the yearly schedule because of the low mileage, some people do that, try and look at the dates of the services, see how far apart they are, shame theres a couple missing but doesnt sound like a bad car, verify the mileage with the MOT's
 
Fancy a change. Sold the 330ci at the weekend not particulalry sure what to get next. I just like to change cars if I'm honest :o

Was asking because I like to know as much I can about a car before I consider it.
 
How odd. You sold your car because you fancy a change before you even know what to change to?

Sure you didn't run out of money like with the z4, guess you couldn't use the capital release excuse a second time :p
 
A Civic will feel like a huge downgrade after a 330ci.

I'm afraid I just don't get this at all!

That's their prices for like-for-like Honda servicing at Hondas recommended intervals. Hope it helps :)
 
Yes Im pretty sure I haven't ran out of money.

Since selling my Z4 I got onto the property ladder, kitted out the house, bought a new kitchen, had the garden landscaped and the other half had a new car.

But don't let that get in the way of your presumptions Mr Fox :p

Probably, but then you do end up spending some time their making them brews and eating all their biscuits :D

They always do the washer fluid, top up coolant and brake fluid etc and there's the cost of disposing of old parts. Most people don't itemise that part but mechanics gotta eat ;)

Are you going to ask us to help you choose a W plate Mondeo when you sell the Honda at random in a few months as well :D

How much did you get for the 330 then?

I take it you're on MCR-VTEC then

They're servicing costs are quite reasonable I was going to have mine done there but I decided to keep the full dealer history running

Possibly, in an ideal world I'd have experienced loads and loads of different cars, engines, performance. Its like a hobby to me. Because the electric window button isn't manufactured to the highest german quality doesn't really bother me. I just fancy a change. I've always wanted a Clio 182 or a Civic Type R , just so I can tick it off the list. Thats why at the moment I'm casually browsing Clio 182's, Trophys and Civic Type R's.

It may seem odd to some but spending 3 years with the same car doesn't appeal to me.
