1: Analogue stick. I did try using the Dpad but I just couldn't revert to it, even though I used it in my PS2 days.

2: I use the wide camera, any others and I can't see the whole width of the pitch.

3: Like I was saying yesterday, all I do from the edge of the box inwards is just tap the circle button once and then aim either left or right.

I think you can also knock it even further to run onto using R1+R2, if you look in the command list it tells you exactly how to go about doing that.
I generally just tap R1, but I did much about with R1+R2 and it definitely knocks it even further.

1. Analogue, much prefer it to D-Pad, I dont think I could ever go back to it.

2. Wide camera, cant really get used to the others.

3. Low or High Chip shot, or slide it past them with a tap of the shoot button.

Haven't really got it sussed just yet :p

R2+Square is a controlled shot, which is somewhat like R1 on FIFA, but more difficult to use. It may also cause players to make runs, like L1 on FIFA, but that may be situational.

Yeah, I read that too. Haven't tried putting it into practice yet though!
 
Was playing this game down hmv today and I really enjoyed it, I now regret getting FIFA 11, it just feels less of a strain to play then FIFA where I get bored after a couple of games. It's defo a lot better the demo
 
I scored a better OG than that when I was playing Killswitch, 25 yards out and blasted it into the bottom corner of my own goal with Vidic :(
 
Did you start master mode with a normal team or did you play with the master league guys like Castolo and Minanda.

I started with them and the only two signings i managed are Hitselsperger and Owen. Nobody else wants to come :(
 
i picked this up on friday and after having been a fifa guy for the last 3 yrs this is now my footie game of choice.

just seems more fun than fifa imo.
 
oh i meant the ones who every year, new players are put into the transfer list without clubs. Like 1-2 every year there start out like crap and 3 seasons down are complete monsters. Well i am returning MOH tomorow and buying this, so it whouldnt be a problem.

I started with PES United and the original master league guys. Scout is useless though, he can't ever seem to give me the stats of players. I think when I restart a master league game I'll invest in a better one from the start. I signed Owen on loan in the winter transfer window and in his first three appearances he has been injured in the for 20 minutes and had to be subbed and miss the next game, and he has only scored one goal in 10 appearances. Just to reinforce the already high levels of realism in this game :)

Damn, I went the opposite direction this morning, you just missed the chance to do a straight swap. :(
 
Will have to try that penalty tutorial. However, do the same directions apply during a shootout when the view goes behind the player?

I really don't get why they have made penalties so retarded. Its my only complaint about the game so far.
 
Well, I gave it a shot, but have since sold it for a small loss. There is so much to like, but I don't feel fully in control of it. Scored two goals in my last match that summed it up for me. One was a 30 yard screamer where I just tapped the shoot button - didn't seem right. The second was a great diving header - only problem was when i pressed shoot it was meant to be for a different player. the ball sailed over his head, but the button press registered and out of nowhere Pato steams into the picture and launches himself at the ball!!

I don't mind admitting that the most important thing for me in a football game is control. I just want to be in full control of my shots, passes and crosses - only fifa really lets me do that when i switch to manual.

On PES the crossing is horribly limited (near post, middle of area or out for a throw in) and the shooting just doesn't feel right. Passing - they have made some good advances, but too often the the ball pings to a player out of shot you didn't even know was there.

It seem like I'm hating on it and I'm not. There is a lot to like - with a bit of refinement and 360 degree dribbling then I can see it challenging Fifa, but for control freaks like me 2011 isn't going to challenge Fifa, despite Fifa's flaws.
 
Quick question, a couple of my mates have been converted and are gonna buy PES soon, we're wanting to play the master league online but is there any way to actually play in the same divisions/matches against mates etc?

From the info i've gathered (haven't actually tested it yet) its only quick match/coach mode or competition. Anyone shed some light?
