Superchips or Revo remap? (Group buy anyone?)

I’m thinking of re-mapping a 2.0TSI

I was planning to use Revo which will take the BHP/Torque to 266/313 however the superchips bluefin is quite a bit cheaper and I quite like the idea of being able to remove it if we want. It takes the engine to 254/280

Does anyone know if one has any benefits over the other?

Also Is anyone up for a group buy if I can get the price down to 350 (450 RRP) for any VAG (audi, skoda, VW, seat) group car?
 
I have a Revo all be it on a completely different engine. The maps are well proven and when I was doing research I didn't find anyone who had problems with them. The same couldn't be said for many other companies.

The maps tend to have a big dollop of torque low down tailing off as the revs build. I quite like this sort of delivery but it isn't to everyones tastes.

With the addition of an SPS unit the map can be activated/de-activated as you wish. £150 RRP but when I got my map done they were offering £100 off making me wonder why I never got one for just £50.

Just a point on Revo figures... Taking your link- Standard 200, Revo 266 bhp right? Wrong! Check out the Power graph. They show the standard car putting out nearer 225bhp before the map.

So maybe the car puts out more power as standard and they give a true 266bhp... or maybe their rollers are of the optimistic variety ;)
 
I had the Revo on my TT a few years ago, I was very pleased with it at the time, I never really used the SPS3 as I put the same RON 98 in it all the time.

Stock power on the 2010 2.0 TSI is 210 bhp.
 
get dyno plots to get an idea of what the output will be like

as for the figures, take them with a pinch of salt. theyre only for pub talk

The 2L TFSI always makes over the quoted power 220-230bhp is the norm. Looking at the bluefin graph they quote the stock one running 249bhp !

I agree with Matt82 you want a map that doesn't have a dollop of torque low down to get the high figures. I would pick one with lower peak torque/power but holding it longer to the redline. GIAC and APR maps appear to do this.

u might aswell get your money put it in a big pile on the floor and burn it instead of taking it too superchips

get someone else to do it

I dont have anything for sale, I just wanted to know If Its wroth spending the extra 150 quid to go for a revo map over the superchips.

Re the group buy, I have not even arranged anything Just an idea if people are interested.
 
I'm very interested in this. I have the 2.0 TFSI engine in my '07 FR. Already had one dreadful map from a mobile tuner, and wanting a much better one. Luckily I got my money back :)

what was wrong with the other map? i was under the impression that setups like that were going round putting "pirated" software on people's cars

It was just a rubbish map...torque actually decreased from standard, and he did the classic trick of dramatically increasing throttle response to make it feel faster.
