In fairness, Hunters originally had Focus, but they took it out as they couldn't balance it properly. No idea about the paladins, though.

Isn't Hunter's Kill Command still ludicrously OP? Saw a hilarious video a few weeks ago of a Hunter dueling an 80 Paladin using only his pet, and winning every time.

i take it this is one of the videos from early beta when the pet was hitting for 50k ish, nope kc now does 8-15k
 
Algalon is currently bugged to hell. Hes un doable currently you can't see him, stars constelations or cosmic smash's very well.

Otherwise i'm loving this patch, DKs are soo much fun and Finally i have BURST as unholy. Bursting 35-40k dps through BL now, its crazy.

In Vanilla Beta paladins had Crusader Strike + Holy Strike. CS would be used to to apply a debuff to the target which increased Holy Damage, and then Holy Strike was an 'on next swing ability' that dealt Holy Damage to the target, scaled by the CS debuff. The devs took this model and ran with it for Rogues, combining it with the D2x Assassin model, giving them combo-points and finishers. The Devs got rid of the Holy Strike model for Paladins because it was boring (which it was) and allowed Paladins to be more offensive-orientated than they had originally envisioned.

The irony implicit in the new Holy Power model for Retribution has not gone un-noticed ;).
 
One thing I am loving about this patch is that it is now really easy to tell the difference between a good and bad paladin.
 
Got 3 major lockups in ICC last night and few others did as well. Two reported that it was antivirus causing and disabling stopped it. I didnt touch my AV and after the 3 lockups I was fine. All 3 happened in first 5 mins, logged into a partly cleared ICC, stuck at loading screen, ended up killing wow from task manager. Tried to enter again, straight in. Portal to Deathbrongers rise (short raid thurs meant only 3 killed) and almost imediately again lockup (guy who locked up at ICC loading screen same as me also on vent said bugger I have locked again, so exactly same times and places). Ran onto platform where DB comes to and locked again. "grrrr ffs looks like I cant raid" restarted wow, said I would give it one more try then nothing, not a single error all night.
Apart from a small one on professor, the secind he died my ui went mega screwey, but a relog sorted it.

I play a prot warr, its certainly interesting atm. You can really feel threat issues at start if DPS aren't careful but 30 secs in its all fine assuming you use a decent "rotation"

We did have an issue on HC sindy in that I was dying to frost breath 1 shots, a friend in another guild on same server had same issues as well. Not really sure why, but seem to have become a little squishy to that one effect compared to pre patch.

Definately feels more vanilla like, but also takes quite a bit of getting used to as I find I need to watch CDs more than I used to which isn't so good for tanking
 
Theres some serious bugs involving crashing/freezing when the cogwheel icon to interact with objects appears, supposedly turning off tooltips helps.

Armor isn't what it was before the patch. So you take more from melee.

We had fun on hc with our healers killed it 4th try, wtih only 4 healers.
 
Im liking the new patch, but had some issues with my deathknight tanking on sindragosa, not sure if anyone else has had this....

Due to the melee speed debuff that you get as a tank, my rune regeneration was basically not happening, at all. I had 300% speed debuff, which then meant that I didnt get any runes at all...?

Anyone else had this problem? I only tried it on patch day, they may have since fixed this?

Protection Paladin? Paladin has enough defence as it is, you might as well invest in DPS, i'm going to be doing the same with my Warrior.
 
came back after being away since 2008. wotlk was too easy. now its even easier. within a week, my GS is 5.5k from 3.2k. instancing is pure boredom, minimal social interaction since its so easy to join a hc, clear it and leave for the next. i hope Cata gets back to vanilla/bc and far away from wotlk, but i think im about to be disappointed.

Got my account back and all my tanking gear and most of my gold has gone missing. :( I'm beginning to wonder if blizz is messing with accounts themselves to sell more authenticators, as none of my other stuff including e-mail and bank accounts have been touched since my WoW account got done over.
Weird.

Im suspicious too, because i got hacked while i wasn't even subbed! I'm to believe someone activated my account and hacked it? It's not possible. GM replaced most of the gear, which was old lvl 70 epics, my lvl 80 stuff untouched, nothing was sharded, only things like enchanting rod were deleted. When farmers hack accounts they shard all the stuff and mail the crystals away.
So basically...something is very rotten at Irvine.
 
It can probably work out as greater profit for the gold selling scum to put a gamecard on stolen accounts while fleecing them. They probably also assume since the sub wasn't active they don't need to rush quite as much to get all the gear sharded etc.

Considering how much customer service/GM time is taken restoring accounts/characters i find it hard to believe Blizzard do it intentionally, especially just to sell authenticators. They don't even sell them at a profit, they just charge (a possibly inflated) shipping cost and theres even the free one for mobiles...

One of my old college mates sold his account to an account buying/selling site a year or so back and now he's trying to claim it back! I don't agree with account selling/buying, but that seems a little harsh seeming as he was paid for it and some poor buggers gonna lose a bit of dollar.
 
Totally just resubbed.

Got my Level 80 Gnome Warlock, however I now hate gnomes... considering race changing to a worgen lock, or possibly just re-roll and experience all of cataclysm? I'm not sure!
 
So raid bugs/undocumented changes so far:

Syndragosa - Slow sebuff from breaths now lasts longer so can't drop off, meaning you either have to switch tanks after the second air phase or be using a paladin (like me) who can bubble it off to prevent 100% slows.

Syndragosa - Frost Bomb target location not showing

Halion - Meteor hits as soon as phase 3 starts meaning shadow DPS has to stop so physical can nuke down the infernal to avoid massive percent swings.

Halion - Combustion/Consumption ground effects now showing

HC LK - Shadow Trap ground effect not showing


It's been a long ass week.

AMD 955 black edition clocked @ 3.8 GHz
ATI 5770 default clocks
4 gigs of ram

When I run it on ultra settings with maxed multisampling and anisotropic filtering, during peak hours in dalaran my fps drops to 10 or so, during slightly less busy times it goes up to 19-29 depending on player density (around 40-50 fps otherwise).

Any idea how to improve the performance? The game really shouldn't be running this slow on my spec :(

Dude Dalaran is just strange, I have an i7 970 @ 4ghz, 4gb Dominator 1600mhz, 460gtx, and an SSD. I was getting like 40fps there earlier, whereas with everything on ultra, I am getting 110fps+ without vsync on.
