****Official Fallout New Vegas Thread****

I have not had any crashes yet but its now taking ages to load when you go to a different area or inside a building. Think i will try clearing the cache later see if that helps...?

I put in a fair few hours yesterday, Been along the strip and most of the east and south, Anyone been west yet?

Is it me, or is this a lot harder than Fallout3?

I have died countless times, especially from feral ghoul packs, which in F3 were not that hard.

Anyone tried and succeded to get to New Vegas along the highway, early in the game? :)

Have you found any super mutants ? i came across about 5 and 4 i think had gatling guns so did a runner :p but 1 with the melee weapon chased be so i thought i should be able to kill him right - i had 5 shots in vats with a exellent condition laser rifle to his head and it did hardly any damage  playing the game on normal so yes it does seem harder than fallout 3 .

I'm struggling massively to play this, playing on normal and I can't even get past this Primm stronghold... i'm going to start again and read up on VATS and RPG playing etc...

I don't think its the game, I think I suck badly. The game reminds me of Red Dead Redemption, however its aiming and shooting etc is much different but its like RDR as in fully open world, so I like this...

I couldn't even work out how to use the map, although I think I've just worked it out.. lol Talk about being a total fallout noob lol I'll get there..

Have you read the manual..?

IV-techman, You can change to easy at anytime if you are struggling, I will say that primm is easy bit.

Been wandering about and run into i think 6 mister gutsy's and 6 sentry bots lets just say i got owned over and over again but eventually killed all of them anyway there is a crashed vertibird and a tesla prototype weapon :D:D:D .

Don't forget the game was released on Tuesday in the US, so they've had a few days to get the patch tested and approved.

I'd say it's more likely that the bugs and issues they've fixed were apparent when they sent the Game for printing. They obviously did as much as they could up until that deadline, then shipped it with the intention of working on those fixes so that they could have a patch ready for when the game was released.

On another note, I started playing last night and really didn't know what to do at character creation. I can't remember what I chose in Fallout 3, but I did mostly use the normal guns like rifles.

Obviously repair seems quite critical on this one, so I thought about putting a lot of points in that. I also thought about trying something new... in Fallout 3, it wasn't worth having energy weapons over normal guns, as the ammo wasn't in abundance. In this one, it looks like you can make ammo for them, so are they worth taking this time?

I'm really lost as to what skills to take!

Also, I was wondering whether to have the funny dialogue perk on... as I doubt I'll play the game over more than once, so wondering whether it's worth putting on the first time.....

Cool but I started again and took more note of what was being said and the onscreen instructions, read the manual and now i'm in primm and getting on a lot better, still on normal. Haven't played a game like this before, so I had to learn what was going on etc.. lol

Least I've had my money out of it so far.. nearly four hours so far and bet i'm nowhere. lol Better then completing a game in four hours.. Great game, very good in fact.

I'm having a lot of fun with this game, though I did experience my first crash when I went to the Saloon in Goodsprings. I've only really be between there and Primm at the moment. This game just seems so much more alive than Fallout 3 and much more interesting.

Also, I stole some NCR armour and it is a godsend so early in the game. Made fighting in Primm so much easier. And the soundtrack is awesome.

i'm about 20 hours in at the moment, i've only had 1 crash and only seen a couple of glitches - not much different problem wise to fallout 3.

yeah caravan is easy money and free supplies (traders stock refreshes every 3 game days). i've just been grabbing everything i need from the 3 traders i've found so far that play caravan.

i need to find a trader that gets armor and plays caravan next ;)

Got the game today on trade for MoH, 6 hours into it and it feel's like I am playing a £40 expansion. Without spoiling anything I just loaded some ghouls onto a rocket, tell me the game get's better please...
