how dirty is your motor?

I'll clean the inside when it gets bad to make it look nice again but the outside is all scratches and rust so don't see the point in polishing a turd.

Gets pretty dirty after a few days. If I don't have time to clean it or the weather doesn't permit then I'll take it to a drive through snow foam/jet wash which is a couple of quid.

Interior is pretty rank at the moment, though. My drive is located at a weird angle to my house so getting the vacuum out is a bit of a pain, usually have to rely on garage vacuums and they're naff.

Very very dirty.

lol, I wouldn't waste the effort on him next time mate,

keeping a car clean in winter is a joke, as soon as you clean it and go out on the road it's filthy.

I agree with all you mentioned.

Then you are just as incapable of reading as he is.

You seem to be under the misapprehension that I think everyone must spend 2 hours a week cleaning a car. That couldnt be further from the truth.

My opinion is simply that I don't understand why people are happy to drive around sitting in filth (The guy who said he actually lets loads of dust and crap built up in his interior) or not bother to wash a from one year to the next. My points are aimed at those in here who actually come across as being proud of the fact they never both. Look internet, look at me, I'm so cool that I don't have 10 minutes a month to blast all the crud off my car. Heck the Eastern Europeans will do a half decent job for a fiver, you dont even need to trouble yourself with the effort! You can just sit in the car posting rolleyes on ocuk whilst its all done for you.

2 quid in a jetwash twice a month tops is about all it takes, then 10 minutes with a vacuum cleaner.

It's not hard and its no different from hoovering the lounge really. It's another personal space you occupy.

Went through a puddle and covered the side of my car in mud. Need to wash it this weekend... Also smashed my numberplate on a crap country road littered with rocks. FF

Theres horses for courses mate, to each his own and all that. I couldnt sit in **** for hours on end but it dont bother me if some people can.

Mines not exactly immaculate at the moment, the back is covered in crap, difference being I'm not going to just leave it until 2012 and move the piles of empty cans, crisp packets and dust out the way when I want to drive it, either.

The "guy" you keep *COUGH* referring to is me *COUGH*, sorry for *COUGH* all the coughing *COUGH* but I'm posting from *COUGH* inside my car and it's pretty *COUGH* dusty *COUGH* *COUGH*

Bottom line is yes I don't relish the idea of going outside and washing or vacing the car but it in no way means I am a tramp or live in a hovel, no idea why a clever bloke like you Fox who knows all his MB engine numbers for a BM would even come to so simple a conclusion.

Also the inside of my car isn't as bad as I made out, was just having a laugh plus the fact that I tend to lick the dash and steering wheel whilst sitting in traffic keeps it nice and kitten clean :)

Mine's minging at the moment. It's clean inside but it's a work horse so more often than not at this time of year it's covered in crap. It gets jet washed every couple of weeks at one of my customers.

You don't need to! Just pop into the local hand car wash, hand over a fiver and it'll come out looking fine for another month.

Thats the thing. I totally get people dont want to spend hours outside washing cars. But there is no need.

Heck even an automatic car wash is better than nothing. I'd rather have swirls than constant filth :p

When I remember and if it's available I get one of the guys from work to go and get it cleaned for me - but other than that I drive so many miles a month that it gets dirty often - it's a losing battle. The inside is clean though.

My truck is quite dirty at the mo, shame because it was washed (not by me) yesterday, I even cleaned all the glass inside & out.

Its a bit minging again though, alas, I had to drive from Stafford to Livingston this morning and have a collection from a BioMass plant later near Penrith, it'll look like a WRC competitor by tonight. :o

Thankfully, we have dedicated truck washes at work , I would not wash it otherwise. :o

My car gets a wash every month, generally...... that said, it sits unused from Tuesday until Saturday and is invariably covered with a film of crap after a week sat in a busy transport depot, its filthy.

Usually, a quick blast off with the jetwash does it, or rain..... :o

If I could understand why my Vista laptop won't accept my phone's bluetooth, I'd post a piccy of the truck....

Totally off topic sorry, how much engine oil does you truck burn?
