Will you be opening the door to 'them' tonight?

Can't believe people are turning off their lights and hiding in their back rooms rather then spend £6 on sweets to dole out!!

Those who are tight and stingy -- I don't want to see you complaining when your living room windows get egged and floured :)

Yay racketeering?

Could say the same of christmas, except change number 2 to

'On the other hand, its risking not being able to pay the mortgage and losing your property'

You're arguing that if you don't do Christmas you run the risk of not being able to pay the mortgage and losing your property. I don't see the connection. Can you explain it to me? I haven't done Christmas for 20 years and I've never felt in the slightest risk of losing my property as a result.

Can't believe some of the lengths people will go to to avoid giving some infants sweets, how sad are you? What's it cost for a couple of bags of Haribos? I take it those who moan about having to get off their backsides a few times to treat the kids never had halloween fun?

Halloween is not about religion anymore, it's about a fun couple of hours for the kids who dress up etc /(rightly or wrongly). Surely there's no harm in that and I'm certain it wouldn't hurt you to join in a little instead of hiding away like Scrooge you grumpy lot!

I agree about the teenagers who make no effort, it's not for them but for the little kiddies who take part. Come on gents, have a heart!

I take my kids out but we only knock on doors who have a pumpkin or items on display to show they are into it, had some great houses around here with some cool deco in the front gardens.

Yes we will be, it's fun for kids and it was fun for me when I was a kid.

People are far too miserable these days

Exactly, I'll do it for the kids.. too many selfish people nowadays that think all they need to do to contribute to society is to be forcibly taxed.

I don't want to open the door tonight but have been told there is no choice. Although we don't have any pumpkins or such on display so hoping they miss us out, that and our house is slightly awkward to get to.
