Well I thought the North gate was the only way to get through to the strip, I could try the monorail but if I remember correctly, it got destroyed because I could n't locate where the bomb was planted.

I managed to use it by wearing some NCR armour.

I went on a bit of a rampage in the Gomorrah casino. Snuck my silenced pistol in, killed one of the guards, took his shotgun and then killed every guard that came after me. Gained Karma for every guard I killed. Then strolled out like nothing happened.
 
The reward being a gold trophy, needed for the platinum you mean :p

Don't know why they put the (Recommended) there, the explanation pretty much says it all. Maybe it should have included 'need to be activated until the end for the special reward'.
 
Well after days of trying to figure this "not being able to enter Vegas strip thing" out, it turns out it is yet a bug( yes another one) that involves you killing some guy that invites you to see Mr house at lucky 38, and you can't enter Vegas strip unless your wearing his hat (Cowboy Hat) or the game freezes. Ridiculous really, I never seen a game with so many bugs this severe. Oh and this bug is not about the gates being locked, that is something else.
 
I must be playing a different version of this game as the only bug i have had in over 40hrs is i got stuck in a rock.... I have completed the main quest and i,m now a few saves back doing other missions and it runs perfect...

Im now thinking it might be my PS3 thats the problem, i had Battlefield Bad Company 2 freeze on me during the SP, then i had Uncharted freeze on me twice in quick succession tonight. Gonna give it a clean and see if it improves.

I dont want to spoil it but not quite ;)

Edit - Btw if you go to Nipton and walk along the main road nearby you should encounter a man who has 7 caps on him.

I also recommend trying to increase your luck and just drink a ton of sarsaparilla as you will get the odd special cap off ones you drink. Naughty Nightwear raises your luck by 1 and there are a few other ways you might be aware of but i wont spoil it for others.

i need a game to play as im bored with my current selection of games , i had fallout 3 which i enjoyed but i stoped playing at some point mainly beacause i could not get on with the strange shooting controls , cant remember what it was called but it was like a auto shot system which i thought was the only way to kill until someone said you can kill without the auto system?

has fallout new vegas got the same shooting system and is it worth getting?

Its the same game mechanics as Fallout 3 with a different story.

Its well worth getting if you liked Fallout 3 tbh i think its the best game to come out since Fallout 3 but then i,m a bit biased...
