****Official Fallout New Vegas Thread****

i need a game to play as im bored with my current selection of games , i had fallout 3 which i enjoyed but i stoped playing at some point mainly beacause i could not get on with the strange shooting controls , cant remember what it was called but it was like a auto shot system which i thought was the only way to kill until someone said you can kill without the auto system?

has fallout new vegas got the same shooting system and is it worth getting?

thanks

Fallout:New Vegas does still have the VATS System (Auto shot system), but you can also fire down sights in this too. It is a good game to get, occassionally buggy, but the story and characters seem a lot stronger in New Vegas than they did in FO3. It's also a game that will last hours so it is value for money.

Minor Spoilers

Have set up my main base in the Brotherhood Safehouse to store all mah weapons as Lucky 32 annoys me.

Only problem is that it's surrounded by Deathclaws. :(

But on the plus side, there's usually a Brotherhood guy there to repair my stuffs. :D

went into the shops today but decided against getting it i might try the supermarkets instead as i think some are doing it at £30 and i also get a staff discount of 15% if they do it at my one

does anyone know if any are doing it at that price?

thanks

Anyone else struggling to find enough ammo? Only played around 10 hours so far, so haven't done that much, but am really short. Any good recommendations?

Well 96  hours in level 30 and still loving it, started off good but couldn't resist taking over myself so been taking it in turns kicking NCR and CL's ass trying to put off the ending (playing on the 360) so no mods to play after, i'm amassed how big this game feels compared to fallout 3 (800ish hours played) even now i keep finding new places and still have about 10 side quests to finish but can't resist the call to battle and explore :D

also couldn't resist the urge to get the limited edition guide for future play throughs and looking through the index there are 27 endings , not sure i will do all 27 but given how much i've enjoyed it so far and how much i replayed F3 i'll for sure do a fair few of them :D

a few of the things i like about the game are the super mutants, in fallout 3 they were way too easy and used to just run around with a Chinese sword hacking them to pieces but FNV they are hard as hell, as are the deathclaws also loving the alfa male and mother deathclaws that quarry is a total no go zone for low level players, the cazadors are a nightmare too, i had a nice reinforced combat armor all repaired up to the max (cost me a fortune) and then i stumbled into a nest of the dam things quite early on so weapons were rubbish and ammo was low and barely got out alive thank god i had my 2 followers to distract them lol

not really had many problems with the game apart from the normal ones from fallout 3 ie: missing textures on rocks getting stuck in rocks and about 5 lock-ups (way better than fallout 3 when it first come out where i had one an hour or so) one thing that may help those having problems is to turn off auto save on wait ect as this was one of the ways to stop F3 crashing so much

Have you been to the Strip yet? There is a weapon shop called The Gun Runners to be discovered near the entrance and they have lots of awesome but very expensive weapons along with plenty of ammo.

Dont think I am going to play this game again till it is patched. Just been on a trek to Jacobstown and its hard locked on me. Happens everytime I play it at random points. I suppose I should save more but I forget when I am walking and killing things.

I like to use wait every 5 mins or so as that autosaves, mine was crashing so much it became second nature :)

I've played through once on normal mode so now I'm playing on hardcore; Where crafting food, drinks and ammo really comes into it's own.

I've had a dozen or so lockups, often after a slowdown where loading when changing areas seems to take an age. It's just quicker to save and reboot the xbox that put up with it once it starts to happen and the chances of a lock up seem to reduce by doing so.

Dispite all, it's still a good game.
