***The X-Factor Thread - ALL X-Factor Related Stuff In Here***

The whole 'peed off judges' thing is engineered. There's a novelty act every year, Cowell would never have let Wagner through if he hadn't already known that people would vote to keep him just for a laugh, like Jedward last year. Eventually people will get bored / the number of true fans voting for Matt etc. will outnumber the Wagner voters and he will leave.

All the 'I'm so peed off that Wagner's still here' is all a big pantomime.

do these judges know what good singing is:confused:

how did katie go threw with the sing off performance ,she sounded dreadful?

belle ami were not great but i thought they sounded better with there sing off song

As with the new i-tunes downloads , just remember more votes means more money !!;)

if he was miming, why did his voice get really quet as he moved away from the mic at the end of his song?

I've been singing in bands for 40 years and I wish I had a magic mic that would pick up my voice perfectly from 2 foot away.
Sometimes it was 2 foot away and other times it was next to his lips with no difference in volume - now that's some voice control.

In fact watching it again it's embarassing -

oh please, give the guy some credit, if thats the case we could all be number 1 singers with a little help from a sound engineer

It is well documented that poor singers can reach No.1, by clever production.

The best singers are not always the biggest sellers. Marketing is arguably the biggest factor when it comes to making the No.1 spot (ie. selling lots of records).

Right. That's the first time I've seen that. Blatantly, that is miming. My gut feeling tells me that the backing track to which he is miming is either taken from a studio recording or was taken from a previous performance, where he stood still and held the microphone at the same distance from his mouth throughout.

When you listen to the performance, it sounds note perfect. The fact that he is moving the microphone away from his mouth, then towards his mouth, then away from his head, while his vocals remain constant, is too much of a give-away.

When singers perform live, it is almost unmistakable. Within seconds, the audience know if a performance is live or not.

How Buble can come on a national radio station and call those who say he was miming, "are idiots", is beyond me.

By all means, mime. Mime till your hearts content. But when you get found out, don't insult those who found you out.

Shame on you Mr Buble.

At least Cheryl didn't claim her performance was live, when she mimed.

Not miming - end of.

He's a liar and all you need to do is watch and see his mouth and microphone action.
I have expensive microphones and a huge gob and I can't do that.
His voice is at the same volume no matter where his microphone is and no amount of compression is going to make it the same under the conditions he's doing it.
The difference between me being 1" away from a mic and then 6" would be a massive volume difference let alone coming 2 foot away where I wouldn't be heard.

Actually just watch between 1:00 and 1:12 and it's embarrassing.

Holy Graham Bell. That performance gives entire new meaning to the term "directional microphone" - put one next to you knees and point it in general direction of one of your ears, and the sound will be just the same as if you had headworn mic mounted half an inch from your mouth.

Thanks Von, that proves it beyond reasonable doubt.
I wish I had his magic microphone.

I wish Elvisfan was in this thread.

He always does this performing, look at his other live performances, he has very good control of his voice.

Listen at the start of the song, the first verse end of each line it fades away dramatically, this wouldn't be the case if it was a backing track to that extent.

He has every right to call you idiots, because to be honest you are.

He does this mic technique every single performance, and he hardly mimes every single performance, learn to listen more to the words and how certain letters sound, such a "t" and "s" etc.
