****Official Fallout New Vegas Thread****

Try clearing the Hard drive cache i have read that this can fix quite a few of the crashing issues...

Mine hasn't crashed since doing this, but there are a few bugs i.e. VATS not activating or your gun firing, a bit jittery at times. It also removes the updates so you can do the unlimited caps at vicki and vance and xp glitches.

I honestly don't know which way to take this game. I started with helping the NCR and fighting any Legion Troops I came across. Now I'm helping both sides. Y'know what? I'm going to work both sides and take New Vegas myself.

Too bad I had to kill Benny though. At least I gave him a warrior's death.

I have to say I'm disappointed with the radio stations, 3 stations (I'm including black mountain) all playing the exact same tracklist and the shuffle is awful, I've heard them play Big Iron 3 times in a row.
Biiig Irrrroooooon Biiiig Irrrrooooon.
I'm loving the game though, lots of cool quests and companions. I just thought the radio would at least rival Fallout 3's radio stations but it doesn't even come close, the songs are good but there's not enough of them and 3 stations playing the same tracklist is just lazy.

I too was let down with the radio, the one in Fallout 3 was really good, lots of different songs so you hardly heard the same song twice. But in NV it's just the same bloody track over and over and over and over.

I got spurs that jingle jangle jangle

Probably a stupid question, but how do you clear hard drive cache on PS3? Is it just removing the 4gb Fallout File that's stored on there?

Yep, the stuff that's there in the game data utility, not save games data but I'm sure you know that (people on other sites don't and it's hilarious to see how they react after they realise the have deleted their save games :D)

I remember when I had to clear it out playing F3 I had to sometimes delete a 7gb file!

Cheers for clearing that up. Will have a go at that later!

I'm 99% certain that I have rendered the game uncompletable.

The NCR quest 'For the Republic, Part 2' is bugged because I've already completed the Brotherhood questline. I've killed Mr House, and the Legion hate me, so naturally I though I'd head back to Yes Man. Part of Wild Card sends me to retrieve the Platinum Chip from Benny at the Fort, but.... he's not there! After taking the raft from Cottonwood Cove, the quest marker disappears, and he's nowhere to be found :(

Add to this my ED-E has completely disappeared, meaning that I can't do the Rex quest for The King, and I'm not best pleased atm. I'm tempted to just call it a day and start over when the next patch is released.

Bugs aside, I'm very very pleased with the game though - I might start calling this Fallout 3 (which it is really), and call FO3, Fallout : DC :p

Heartache by the numbers - trouble by the score - that song i find so catchy and i was even singing that to myself at work today and yes they thought i had lost it :D i dont care :p maybe the radio was better on fallout 3 but i still like it on new vegas and i am well miffed that i cant get arcade gannon as a companion and he is the only one i need for the trophy and i cant improve my skills anymore .

How can you get the gun out of the barrier thing at the REPCONN Headquarters? Like, properly not using grenades and hoping for it to hop my way :p

And okay.. I've just got some sort of bug so that when I try to lockpick it shows an empty computer screen and when hacking it shows a lock!

Gonna leave the game till it's properly patched because the number of freezes I am having is ridiculous (PS3) tried re-installing game data and it dosen't help either. Just poorly coded

Left the main quest yet again to do side missions :) Jees REPconn is a confusing and big place... Did laugh when I completed the mission there though :D

Level 23 now. Had a few freezes, not a big issue to be honest, and got stuck in a rock as well..

Question though, how many quests are after the the one where you get the chip?
I don't want to continue on the main quest and complete it before going through the sides, and I quite like being liked by all factions... :)

I just got the explorer perk at level 26...and looking at the map theres at least 60% more locations I have not visited yet so I am just going to leave the main quest and go exploring...the map is stuffed with locations! (close to 50 hours play now)

I bought the Prima guide its superb. I have done a playthrough without out it but the amount of stuff i have missed is amazing...

Well worth getting for a tenner.

I wasn't saying the songs were bad, they're all really catchy songs, there's just not enough of them and when they repeat the same song four or five times it turns a good song into an annoying song.
It just feels like they were ever so slightly lazy and the radio wasn't important to the gamemakers. It's not like they didn't have enough room on the disk as the install only takes up 4.8gb on the xbox hard drive and most modern games are around the 6gb install mark and Fallout 3 itself is 5.5gb.
